McNeil & Boers - an early/mid-90s daily listen. I got through once and rambled on about Todd Gill on the Leafs doing something dirty and that someone on the Hawks needed to make him pay -- I got the buzzer sound and my call cut off!

McNeil was from NW Indiana & I believe Boers was raising his kids in Mokena/ New Lenox then . My folks had moved there after I graduated college so I was mildly interested in his take . It didn’t take long to realize he had no love for the orange & blue , even if he was maybe paying tuition for his kids there .

once he paired with Bernstein he became insufferable for me . I stopped listening 25 years ago when he allowed his politics to enter the sports world .

I agree. There were times that they were way over the top.

Absolutely I will agree that they did push the envelope a little bit at times. Though that is also why Terry would also tell people as part of the intro to put on their listening ears.

That being said, their work on the Penn State scandal was absolutely top notch. I just recently listened to the Anthony Lubrano interview they did and it was great how they put Lubrano's feet to the fire.

It's gonna be a pretty somber upcoming week at the Score as I'm sure they'll have Terry related stuff on the station throughout.

RIP Mr. Boers.

But I tuned into Chuck Swirsky in late 80s, early 90s because his Saturday talk show offered gift certificates to Lou Malnatti's. My screened phone call was accepted. I opined somewhat tongue in cheek that Ryne, great fielder, should be moved to third base, toughest infield position imo. Chuck said he wasn't sure about that; thanks for your call, he said. Thank you, Chuck. Nice guy.

Mission accomplished: I ate like a king at the Schaumburg Lou Malnatti's.

Chuck Swirsky and Bob Collins on the WGN morning show was classic. Collins would introduce Swirsky as Chuckles.

“Rusty from Stickney”’was a B&B favorite of mine….

I listened to the shows from time to time. Sometimes I enjoyed it. Oftentimes I was annoyed. After a hiatus I would come back. I am sorry

I don't know about your call but there were times I was glad they rang the buzzer.
My wife is a cancer survivor. No one should have to suffer. I'm sadden that he passed away.

Terry didn't want a funeral so the Score is going to do a celebration of life for him tomorrow from Noon until 7:00 PM with Matt Spiegel hosting. While it wasn't officially said when the announcement was made on the station earlier today, it was pretty much implied that Dan Bernstein will appear during the celebration.
