When my wife and I lived just south of I 80, I listened to the Score constantly. I did not always agrree with him or Bernstein for that matter, but 90% of the time it was pretty entertaining.

McNeil was from NW Indiana & I believe Boers was raising his kids in Mokena/ New Lenox then . My folks had moved there after I graduated college so I was mildly interested in his take . It didn’t take long to realize he had no love for the orange & blue , even if he was maybe paying tuition for his kids there .McNeil & Boers - an early/mid-90s daily listen. I got through once and rambled on about Todd Gill on the Leafs doing something dirty and that someone on the Hawks needed to make him pay -- I got the buzzer sound and my call cut off!
I agree. There were times that they were way over the top.McNeil was from NW Indiana & I believe Boers was raising his kids in Mokena/ New Lenox then . once he paired with Bernstein he became insufferable for me . I stopped listening 25 years ago when he allowed his politics to enter the sports world .

That show was kind of terrible, but in an inimitable, legendary way that defined its era of sports radio, and did not lack for very funny moments. RIP.
Chuck Swirsky and Bob Collins on the WGN morning show was classic. Collins would introduce Swirsky as Chuckles.RIP Mr. Boers.
But I tuned into Chuck Swirsky in late 80s, early 90s because his Saturday talk show offered gift certificates to Lou Malnatti's. My screened phone call was accepted. I opined somewhat tongue in cheek that Ryne, great fielder, should be moved to third base, toughest infield position imo. Chuck said he wasn't sure about that; thanks for your call, he said. Thank you, Chuck. Nice guy.
Mission accomplished: I ate like a king at the Schaumburg Lou Malnatti's.
“Rusty from Stickney”’was a B&B favorite of mine….
