Need at least one place on this board where there’s a vibe shift.

- Clemson is reaping the results of Dabo thinking he’s too good for the NIL world, and they’re locked in ACC jail.

- Nebraska has gained zero, football-wise, from joining the B1G.

- Wisconsin just got dumptrucked by Maryland at Camp Randall and is probably gonna be coach searching soon and the fans old enough to remember pre-Alvarez feel an uncomfortable tingling in their joints.

- Counting interims, Florida is on their sixth coach since Urban left, and he is under .500.

- The Belichick experiment, lol, lmfao, even

Feel free to add on while remembering we just came off the longest win streak in CFB and got a $100M cash infusion to the program.

Trent Dilfer was seen texting & taking pictures on his phone during the Tennessee game. Got a laugh out of that

-Can't forget about the dumpster fire at UCLA.
-The major vibe shift at Oklahoma State (got humiliated against Oregon and then lost at home to Tulsa).
-Our Citrus Bowl foe in South Carolina is struggling out the gate

We aren't alone in the disappointment arena for sure.

Good points, Matt. For every program riding high there are always going to be some that have big problems. We are 3-1. We can still right the ship enough to post a bowl eligible team, which we would have all killed for not long ago. It stings to lose and get humiliated while doing it. Back to practice and the next game.

At least we don't have a coach whose significant other craves attention and shows up on the sidelines in bare shoulders, miniskirt and high-heeled knee high white boots on game day

We still have Purdue, Northwestern and Wisconsin on the schedule. I figure we will still be favored on each of those games. Take care of business there and we go bowling regardless of what happens in the other games.

At least we're still 3-1; next week will tell the tale of the rest of the season.
Disagree with that second part. (Respectfully of course)

Next week will tell the tale of next week. If there is one thing I trust BB to do, is make adjustments to maximize success. Each game allows us to do that and help define the season as a whole. But one game won’t decide it.

BB’s not perfect, but if he can right the ship and get us to 8-4, we should all be ecstatic. Even if that means being 3-3 halfway through.

I don't know if it is true but someone said typically at least 10 teams that start the preseason ranked finish the season unranked, so there are plenty of teams that suffer the same fate that we are. As long as this team doesn't quit- which I don't think will happen- then we can still have a winning season and go bowling.

If the Illini start 3-3 (meaning losing at Purdue), there is almost no way they Illini win more than 7 games. The team would likely be looking at 3-5 going into November.

Now, I will be optimistic here. The Illini were not truly a top 10 team going into last night, but they also played the worst possible way too. The Illini are much better than they showed.

I think Illini start very strong on Saturday and sneak out a win. USC is no defensive juggernaut, and they can score nearly at will, but I think they will make more errors on the road.

A win next week will not remove the stink of last night, but it will be a start. Really need to get back to winning one game at a time and cleaning up all the breakdowns.

I dont see Purdue as easy foe...they played N.Dame and were'nt blown out. Not sure who we are Truly favored against. This game was a real embarrassment ...how easily Red scored , all this on National TV....not good, or easily fogotten
