It was a fun game, but the last 6 or so minutes was awful. SO many missed free throws, many of which were followed by offensive boards. Dumb turnovers. SDSU playing it out with 37 seconds left seemed highly questionable. Followed by not using a timeout, getting stuck in the corner, and somehow getting rewarded with the game winner going in. Serious athletes, yes… but those teams are seriously flawed to be final four teams.
Before I go to bed tonight I need it definitively settled whether that was a good game or not.
Miami is absolutely intimidated by the UCONN bigs. They're altering their own shots assuming it's going to be blocked.
It was a great game. Because I randomly drew SDSU out of the hat at work.

Other than the outcome for FAU it was a really good game, they let it get away from them. Whether ran out of gas or couple plays for S.D St. executed better. Entertaining game.
What exactly does this mean?
Starting at 6:45, there were ten consecutive misses over the next minute … including four free throws and two layups
After that, 6-12 on free throws and three more missed layups… so 6-16 on FT to end the game in total, plus five missed layups.
Also six turnovers in the last five minutes, which isn’t that bad, but didn’t help.
I am completely distracted by the way the bald ref runs up and down the court.
What you're saying is that you didn't like Dutcher's strategy regarding not fouling with a 6.5 second game clock/shot clock differential and not calling a TO to allow FAU to set their defense once they got the stop.
Quite frankly, the only team in the entire field that doesn't look to be flawed is UCONN. It's probably why the tournament has been so entertaining. This tournament has really followed the arc of the season. Parity.

Agree with everything you said. And thought both teams were fundamentally bad down the stretch. Entertaining, yes. But at no point did I think “wow, these teams are in a different class than us” like some posters.
UConn looks completely unstoppable. How in the world did they struggle mid season?

My answer is still no because I'm not sure they enjoy the inherent basketball advantages that Kansas, Kentucky, UNC, etc enjoy. But I could be convinced otherwise.
If they win the championship, which they should, they'll have more championships than Kansas, the same amount as Indiana and Duke, and one less than UNC. That's a pretty blue resume. Also they're blue.
They did lose 4 games by 3 or less points so some bad luck contributed to their less than stellar overall record. 27-8 is good but this is a 31-4 level elite team.
#1 in Kenpom vs #14 for the title game. SDSU figured out a way to grind Alabama but I think UConn will be too much. SDSU will need to muck it up and play in the 50s. Reminds me a lot of UConn/Butler matchup

Not writing Miami off yet. Texas looked nice too and I think a better defense, although KenPom and the rest might disagree. 13 is a big hill against UConn though.
Super-impressive; no doubt. I don’t if I’d say EVER. To me UNLV’s run and embarrassing Duke the way they did stands out the most. That was an NBA team playing in college IMO.
