I like Ole Miss and I've thought they were going to be good since that exhibition game back in November with the Illini. They took Iowa St to the woodshed tonight. That final score is deceiving. They were up by 25 pts and completely emptied that arena. I really like their experience. I think they will give Michigan St a run for their money. I think that's your only current cinderella so to speak given their lack of success in the NCAA tournament.

Shoutout to their section of fans as well. They were engaged/loud/chanting pretty much the entire game. It was the only section with their fans from what I could tell and I hope it came off well on TV b/c they brought energy

I originally typed I wanted Arkansas to win out of spite for Kentucky but now I realize I don't want anyone to win and for Covid-20 to cancel the tournament

Yuck! I will be rooting for Michigan to beat Satan.
I will be rooting for both teams to get violently ill and the MSU/Ole Miss winner to the Final Four by default.

Pretty simple for me - I'm rooting against Pearl and Sampson. This season has already been disappointing. Seeing either one of them winning a national title pretty much pushes me over the edge and supports anything that will win Illinois a national championship. Don't really care about morals or ethics anymore - I'm tired of Illinois being the only program adhering to an ethical code. Winning matters. How you get there really doesn't concern me anymore.

Early in the season my concern about our team was based around our athleticism. We had enough size and skill, but did we have enough athleticism?

Most players on Kentucky were like Morez and Tre, but we only have those 2.

As you look at those 16 teams, who is the 24-25 Illini more athletic than?

Part of me wants to watch a UM / MSU Elite 8 game. And the twitter experience would be amazing.

But then one of them would make a Final Four.

Tough spot.

we beat 3 of the remaining teams left in the tourney.....scUM , Arkansas and purdont......

we lost to 6 teams still left..........msu twice , twerps twice.......bama.......tenn....puke and uk...............

we still have a long way to go to reach the pinnacle of success we all want to be at........

we will never do that with 2 rookie outmatched AC's and if they are allowed to return to their positions next year then I will be very disappointed in whoever we bring in from the portal not because of the athlete's ability but because of TU and Hamer's lack of ability to perform their jobs as needed for us to advance to a Final Four status....

If I'm JW I have a serious heart to heart talk with BU and tell him directly and to the point that I am going to make changes in those 2 coaches positions.........If BU doesn't like it then that's too bad but that's what I'm doing ..........

We will never win big with a frosh ladened inexperienced team with inept first year AC's no matter how good the players we bring in are..............Someone has to take control of this out of balance situation and I hope JW does just that........how much better would the season been if we had had established and experienced AC's manning those positions instead of two out of their league coaches like TU and Hamer.......

We hear all the time about " the ball don't lie " on bad calls by refs.......Well , " the season's W-L record don't lie " with those 2 mistakes on the coaching side ................................JMHO.........................

KenPom might be onto something... 15 of the Sweet 16 are in the top 24 in his rating. (We fittingly ended up at 17)

Arkansas is the only outlier, and from a talent standpoint, they aren't a fluke.

This has been a steaming turd of a tournament. As long as it's not Michigan, couldn't care less who wins it all.
