No, but I think it's good to have the conference representation that we do...that said, F Iowa. I won't hear the end of it from Iowa fan friends and coworkers if they make it farther than us. Hell, even if we both lose, they will still say "we're just as good as Illinois".
Except for that illinois beating them on their home court thing

It looked like a punch to me at first, just not to the face- maybe trying to hit the ball?

After watching a few more times, I have no idea what he was doing. His hand wasn't clenched for a punch nor open like he was trying to grab the ball. Maybe he started to punch, then thought better of it and went for the ball. Looked very awkward either way
Everything looks awkward in slow-mo, honestly.

Maybe for the rest of the country. Would be peak cinema for me.
Eh. Part of the fun of the Big Dance is going up against teams you mostly don't otherwise get to see your team play. An all-B1G Final Four would be a fun way to poke a stick in the eye of the SEC and others, but would be less entertaining television (and lower TV ratings overall).

And the B1G still has a chance to get all 4 spots in the Final 4.
Statistically, it's still less than a 1% chance, but a final four of Illinois, Michigan, Purdue, and Michigan State IN INDY ("B1G tourney 2, this time it's for the natty!") would be epic.
Imagine the crying in the SEC offices, and the second guessing at ES(EC)PN.

I don’t disagree…it is an impressive list though. Where would you put him?

It’s a fun question. I understand there is nuance behind resources and stuff like that too.

Personally, I’d have him ahead of Fred and Miller for sure. And I wouldn’t fight anyone too much in whatever order of Lloyd, Underwood, Oats, and Calipari. Although gun to head - Lloyd, Oats, Underwood, and Cal in that order

Wouldn’t argue with much of it though I’d be a homer and move Miller and Hoiberg behind Brad. McCollum is an amazing coach but like someone else said, it’s a strong field.

My biggest gripe is maybe 2-4, would move Sampson from 2nd to 4th. Pitino has more wins and 7 F4s and 2 NCs, Izzo has 8 F4s and a NC, Sampson has only 3 F4s and no NCs.

The price underwood has had to pay for that Loyola game an empty Covid arena is an absurd tax.
So we lost because it was in a empty arena?

That's a new excuse

It is difficult comparison as how do you compare Scheyer to Hoiberg, when Hoiberg has a fraction of the resources. If Scheyer had started at Nebraska instead of Duke, would he have accomplished what Hoiberg has? Conversely, if you give Hoiberg the roster Scheyer has...? Does Pitino have the record he does without all the bag men / hookers/ ??? supporting him in his career? Cal, same question - would he have won as much had he run a clean program?
It is also a big question of whether you are evaluating them on the coach they are today or their career. Izzo has a great career - but he hasn't been what he used to be. Dusty May has had two good teams, counting this years team. Paint had suffered a rash of terrible tourney losses before Edey's last year.
This is an exercise with more questions than answers
