Fair point, but Freeman is much better IMO and would get a much longer time to adjust to the level than Alstork did.
Alstork had trouble staying on the court. I wonder if he would have had more success if Underwood had changed his defensive system like he did this year. He picked up a lot of silly fouls getting up into the body on traps.

And our last MVC transfer worked out very well, woof close one there.

While I agree with others who pointed out the small sample size and the differences between Alstork and JFL, factual accuracy was my post’s sole intent.

If you’re referring to Ekey, who if I’m not mistaken was our last MVC transfer, I’d argue that, at least relative to expectations, he was a much greater success than Alstork. Plus he had a game winner against Iowa. That’s always a good thing lol.

Rayvonte Rice was also a relatively recent MVC transfer. He was able to put up nearly identical numbers in the B1G as he did in the MVC. I think we'd all sign up for a couple more years of Ray.

I'm just not a fan of the type of logic that suggests, because transfer 1 wasn't what we hoped, and transfer 2 was at a similar school, that transfer 2 will also disappoint.
Most people wouldn't dare make the argument that Brandon Peters is going to be a HOF QB because he was having a hard time winning the starting job at Michigan, and you know who else had a hard time winning the starting job at Michigan? Tom Brady!

Yet we apply that kind of logic all the time when discussing failure.

For sure on Rice. Totally agree.

Frankly, I just assumed that Homecoming was referring to someone other than Rice. While his stats came partly from high usage and a sub-par supporting cast, as you say, I think we'd all take another transfer who produced like he did.

David Jones, also DR and who visited C/U earlier is the name that I heard is high on staff's list.
As long as this post has been up, I thought for sure I would have found some really bad Davy Jones The Monkeys/Locker puns. COVID19 has changed this place.

Not entirely, there’s been a whole Rorschach test on the Kofi thread to see who sees letters vs. who sees a phallic image in Cockburn’s signature. Tough to keep Loyalty down for long

If we land Chaundee Brown, I think my favorite part might be the fact that the delusional Wake fans were crapping all over our program back during the Ayo recruitment, and in the years since, Manning continued running their program into the mud and one of their best players would have then jumped ship to play for us.
