I remember Texas was not happy about him visiting Oklahoma.
You can see that he visited us unofficially three times before he committed to Texas. He took his official visit here before signing with Texas. He also had another unofficial visit here in the fall of 2017 which is not on that timeline. His parents were hoping that he'd pick Illinois so that he could play closer to home.

Not a cool move, and regardless of the massive impact he’d likely make at Illinois I don’t want him on our team just because a recruitment video made by an 18 year old personally insulted me. I’m not salty or anything...
I am about as die-hard as they come to recruiting, but in the words of a man much wiser than myself, (1) these are 17-18 yr old kids and (2) kids are a reflection of their parents/grandparents.
cut the kid some slack, we all did stupid stuff at that age, and some of us were lucky it wasn’t on the internet
