Thank you, Trent. You were the one that started it... the road back up to level that Illini ball always belongs. The cold weather didn’t scare you off. The challenge ahead for the program didn’t scare you off. The work you had to put in on yourself didn’t scare you off. That some big Alphas joined The Beloved didn’t scare you off. That you had to park your ego in favor of Team didn’t put you off.

All you wanted to do was to make the Orange and Blue... and yourself... proud. And you did it.

You’ve been a ray of Florida sunshine upon the once barren lands of Illini Nation. God bless, and all the best. Via Con Dios, Amigo.

Trent came in and was truly committed to the school. We had no upward trajectory until he got here. He was the silver lining before there was the silver lining. I know everyone perceives Ayo as the guy that turned things around, but Trent actually gave us things to be turned around. I hope he gets everything he wants out of pro career and some.

Best of luck Trent. You are the foundation that today’s Illini resurrection is built upon. Thank you for all you’ve done and meant to this program and school. All success for you now and in the future.

He'll probably withdraw and go back. Though maybe not returning to us. In any case, best of luck to him!

Nothing but dedication, class, hard work, integrity, flexibility, and purpose for years...even in the lean ones. Best wishes, Trent!

It's just so weird to have such strong connection with these guys and not know whether they may be with us or not... Trent was the heart of this team and carried us in crunch times, and increasingly impressed w his dedication to tenacious d. I witnessed him single handedly get us within 1 possession of catching Gonzaga in Maui before Ayo was Ayo... could be carrying us next year... or could be gone.
