Trent Frazier named to B1G All-Freshman Team

247 sports composite for all B1G freshman:

Jackson #8
Wesson #75
Fernando #87
Davison # 108
Frazier #109

Frazier was an absolute stud, but Jackson will be in the NBA next year. I'm positive that Frazier will leave the B1G with more awards than Jackson did.
Leron probably should have been higher, but rewards are for winners, :(
Expecting two on the first-team and two more between second and HM next year ;)

Maybe I'm crazy, but I feel like the real snub is Alstork from the all-defensive team. I get his defensive stats aren't huge and he makes stupid fouls... but he's the lock down defender in the best turnover defense.

Congrats to Trent and Leron. Learn should've been ranked higher. Third team at least. Oh, and Trent was HM by the media as well. Great job both of you!!

#Illini Trent Frazier voted to #B1G All-Freshman team.

@_Trentfrazier1 leads all Big Ten freshmen in points, assists, steals and threes for both all games and conference games.

congrats trent...well deserved...

NOW....TF led the B1G frosh in 4 category's and doesn't get FOY....robbery
is what that is....

Leron should have been at least 3rd team ...

next year is the " YEAR OF REDEMPTION " for the Illini and payback is in order .

Is it safe to say that Leron has developed into the player we hoped he'd be coming out of high school? I never thought he'd be such an efficient 3P shooter.

Well, I'm one who believes the retro uni's should be saved for special occasions, maybe paired with the orange blazer.
But yeah, not crazy about our uni's in general, especially the orange. They need a design refresh.

I feel the bolded is getting overlooked. Someone even posted it is no contest, Jackson hands down.

Jackson is talented, no argument. He is also a lottery pick, maybe top 1-3. But statistically, where did he blow away Trent? Blocks of course, rebounds, but he is a big so he should lead there.

I am not arguing so much that Jaren doesn't deserve it, moreso why everyone thinks it is such a slam dunk

Harder to lead all categories when your team has other NBA players on roster

True, but isn't it an award for performance, not just talent, or potential? Kinda like difference between MVP v MOP?

Ya always a hard one. If by performance/contribution to team, Trent wins.

Interestingly, per sports-reference.com, Jackson on MSU had 2.6 win shares in conference, leading MSU. TF had 0.9 (third on our team after Leron and Kipper)

So if you evaluate that way (a stat that accounts for your performance and your team’s success), Jackson probably the clear winner of FOY

Can we please oh please get rid of the zig zags once and for all....that design is absolutely one of if not the worst "design" element on any uniforms?

All the talk about the uniforms lately crack me up. No offense to anyone, but if we were winning games and had been a consistent S16 team the past few years, nobody would be saying a word about these unis. 99.9999999999% of the people on here (I'm sure there is 1 person out there) will say their favorite uniforms were the '89 or '05 jerseys. Hmmmm, wonder what else that coincides with. ;)

mmmm.. not true. We could be undefeated and I would still hate the jerseys. At the very LEAST, PLEASE.... No more grey's. Ever. Get them outta here. Actually the trend right now is more classic uniforms.

I completely disagree. Remember, you are wanting to attract kids. Plain block letters with no design? We want kids to sport our gear, not 40 year old men.

These "kids" that roll down the waistbands like Jr. High girls did 10 years ago?

This has been bugging me all year. TF does it all the time, but several other guys do it too. I thought that the uni shorts weren’t fitting properly or something. But is it some sort of fashion thing for the guys?? (Like Kippers old upside down headband?)

Which is why we need to ditch the zigzags. The 90's called, they want their paper cup back:
