If you are triggered by me saying that people should better educate themselves about the different ways that sexual assault victims respond in different situations, and just because they didn't respond the way you think they should doesn't mean an assault didn't take place, then you are part of the problem.

And if me saying that upsets you, I really don't care.

I also want to point out that my original post was not making a statement as to what I think happened with TSJ. I hope that an assault didn't occur. But I don't know. None of us do. However, my post was making a general statement about how people respond to sexual assault (and sexual assault accusations).

Honest question: In the last thread there was a post from X about how the TJ TRO would/could put pressure on the DA to drop or reduce charges. I fail to see the connection. Help me out? I don't think the DA gives a s*** about TJ or the U of I.

No matter which perspective you hold, it seems the overlooked issue here is that the allegations should not have been publicized through formal charges without thoroughly examining the incident and its witnesses. All of this could have transpired without subjecting either the accuser or the accused to the scrutiny of public judgment.

Now that everything is public and basically showing the case is a sham could pressure on the DA to drop sooner than later

A simple hearing both sides present their case. I look for a quick ruling. The same judge who, assuming, grants the tro decides on making the injunction permanent. Absent the sky falling that is granted. Someone worried about a university appeal. The appellate standard for a tro is abuse of discretion. Unlike Douglas County our discretion is fine. Abuse of discretion is the highest appellate standard. You do not bother to file unless for the optics. The tro hearing is the ballgame
