IF , his fingers touched her hand or arm , I would think any DNA transfer would be washed away the first time he washed his hands really well afterwards .

But her DNA on him could indeed come from a sneeze . it means ZERO to this case
Her DNA under his fingernails (or anywhere that would indicate close interaction for that matter) would certainly mean something. I have no insight into how long that would remain, so there may have been no reason to look for it by that time.

The judge kept referring to a "no-go" as an option, which I'm assuming is the same as waiving the hearing. And the defense specifically said they wanted a preliminary hearing and that they estimated it would take "half a day."
My understanding from talking to an attorney friend and some googling is the "no-go" is basically a scheduling hearing. So the judge usually sets a date to get back together and make sure everyone has their ducks in a row with the case and THEN schedules the preliminary hearing. TSJs lawyers waived that and asked to go straight to prelim, and the state agreed.

I'll also say one more thing here just as an "everyman" with no legal qualifications ... just seeing everyone's picture on Zoom (I couldn't bring myself to watch) is chilling. Either TSJ did this, and that poor girl has to live with what occurred her whole life ... and he is just sitting there looking like the same player I have loved for a couple years now! Or, TSJ did NOT do this, and he is living an unimaginable nightmare, facing decades in prison for no reason.

Really makes you sick to your stomach.

Preliminary Hearing: Also referred to as a probable cause hearing, a preliminary hearing is a court hearing to determine whether there is sufficient probable cause for a defendant to go to trial.

My guess is TJs lawyers will press hard to get the charges dropped, given the fact that they elected not to do the no-go hearing.

Am I correct in thinking that we will likely not learn much more about the case until then and then learn a ton?

I was at the game last week against MSU and saw several young kids wearing TSJ jerseys. I got a pit in my stomach thinking as a parent how you’re supposed to explain this situation, whichever way it goes, to a 9 year old kid.

Let's say hypothetically the defense proves that there is insufficient probable cause (or rather, the DA does not prove that there is sufficient probable cause), does the judge make a ruling at the hearing? Or would they take it back and make a ruling at a later date?

Ruling will be made that day. It’s highly unusual for a case to be thrown out at a preliminary hearing. We should not hold much faith in the case being dismissed on Feb. 23.
