That was just a completely heart-felt, honest, compassionate interview Meyers did. Wow, so happy for the progress he's made recently in his life and also for the seismic donation he and his wife made to the program.
Maybe he will become a future big man coach for us.
I love Meyers, the kid made a mistake and is doing all he can to make it right. I hope he gets another shot in the NBA, ignorance is much different than hate.
I never thought he knew the full impact or meaning of what he said. He has apologized and has tried to atone and deserves to be forgiven and allowed to move on from the incident.
He was always very open, thoughtful and sincere in the NBA interviews I saw or read, probably why he seemed to be so popular with the sports press when they needed a quote. I always felt the punishment - being effectively black-balled - went too far beyond his crime, especially given its odd circumstance. With so many teams reaching deep into their G-league rosters lately you'd think some GM would've given him a call.
