I am absolutely sick. The only comfort I can get is that we weren't going to win the Big Ten anyway, so all this loss really does is drop us a seed or two.

My big concern is that this habit of allowing teams back into games is going to hurt us when we get to the tournaments ahead of us.

Would people feel better if we lost all these Big Ten games by 20?
There are people that wouldn’t feel better if we won the national championship.

Are there things to be upset about? Yes. Will we win the regular season conference now? Not likely. Does that mean the season is over? I'll grab some popcorn and wait for the answer after 10+ pages :ROFLMAO:
Onward towards another scUM beatdown. WIll this one be even sweeter with Morez involved? I say yes!
I hate Scum too but they are not going to get blown out by anybody this year. Their defense is lights out.

Brad has no sense of the momentum of the game, never has. Never called a timeout in the first half. I was yelling at the TV screen to call a timeout after UCLA made four straight baskets. Our energy had dropped significantly and he needed to wake up the team.

This can’t happen. Much less when you are technically still fighting for a B10 championship and 1/2/3 seed in the tournament.

Z has to be standing at the top of the restricted area and form a wall at the basket. Make dent either shoot a floater over him or dribble around him. He probably misses the floater and probably runs out of time if he has to take one more dribble. Z was out of position. Can’t happen.
Yep Z was practically under the basket out of position to do much of anything. frustrating

Omg, 13-42 from three? Disgusting. That will be our down fall time and time again
For sure the 3s didn't fall tonight and the defense wasn't strong enough to clean up the mess. The offensive boards help but not really when you shoot another 3 off that opportunity. 13-42 will get you beat all day don't matter if you was winning by 23 earlier in the game. Find other ways to attack teams or this result could continue.

I can't believe that was after a timeout where we knew what they were lined up with. Also with two starters out. Embarrassing. Pressure the f'ing ball on the inbounds. Play to win, don't play to not lose.

I don't know, maybe if Brad pulls Tomi off the court in favor of Z at any point during the 9 or so open threes he failed to even challenge, maybe we don't give up a 23pt lead. There is no reason Big Z should have been sitting for 13min in the 1st half and 15min in the 2nd. None.
Tommy was the weak link on defense, getting picked on ALOT.Slow on closeouts,Z was not much better but has better foot speed.

Why does Ivasich shoot 3s??!@! He fails. And blame Underwood for crap coaching

Im done defending Brad.
That team was coached soooo poorly in the last 4.9

That is exactly why we will never be a serious year to year final four contender.

He is the Rick Barnes of his era

Every loss we ever have is always on Brad.

We know this already
Don't flippin excuse this one away on Brad- unacceptable loss- point blank. We gave up a gosh darn layup to lose the game- inexcusable.

Who ever set up the last second defense, should walk home. How do you let a guy go all the way to basket without challenging him?

#319
What’s your problem, bro? It’s not an attack on the very soul of Illini basketball to be plssed off at how badly we choked that away. I bet the same staff you defend is angry as hell and not shrugging it off.

Give me a break with that.
There is a difference between being angry and throwing a tantrum while pitching the coaches and players under the bus.

3-5 when high major basketball teams make 10+ threes against us.

Not saying I disagree with the strategy of selling out to stop high percentage shots at the rim, but this is the risk against a competent shooting team.

I think the biggest thing (or maybe the smallest / easiest thing) we should've done differently is go to the rim more in the 2nd half. Had them in the bonus. We were getting down hill pretty easy. Our threes were short across the board for the last 35 minutes. Yet we kept settling for them.

I get that's who we are but just one more drive instead of hoisting a three could've been all we needed.

Losing 3 of our last 5 going into March is not a resume builder nor were we need to be, and we get Michigan to round out February. Need to right the ship quickly

Absolute embarrassment of an in game coach and the reason we cant win a championship. Fire his !!!.

Maybe on the next 4.9 seconds full court inbounds play, put someone on the inbounding player and 4 guys in a zone around the defensive key to stop straight drives to the basket and make your opponent not be able to get a free trip to the rim. What the team is currently doing is not working.

No one tried on the last 4.9 seconds
Almost like they were instructed to let him go to basket and score.

I dont get it
The fear of fouling, when only up 1, is there. It's a delicate balance. My issue is not having anyone on the ball in the inbounds pass. Make the pass tougher and not allow him to get it with a full head of stream.
