Thought his tenure here, he's beaten plenty of good teams. The fact is this team is not as good as the everything's rosy crowd was chanting a couple weeks ago. Our preseason ranking of #15 is probably fair and w/o a healthy Tomi that's even being generous.

My only big complaint about Brad is - why insist on shooting so many 3's when you're obviously not a good 3-pt shooting team.

I am curious, what the magic number/cutoff point is for that realization or adjustment. They generate some pretty great looks, so it seems silly to go away from it. On the other hand, how many great looks do you miss before you determine you don't think you can make them at a good enough clip?

Truly don't know.

I've been pretty clear on what I believe BH to be. It's not ever even approached "trash player".

Please don't start this strawman nonsense. My posts have been crystal clear.

I didn’t even quote/respond to you, ya joker lol

You saw something, felt identified, and jumped in to defend yourself

One glaring difference in between us and Uconn. They run a real offense that creates easy opportunities. We do not run a real offense. Imo, missed shots and shooting aside Brad was outcoached and his in game adjustments has been a weakness for as long as I can remember. Uconn offense is a machine.
One I think that will help our offense is that everybody needs be more conscious not standing and watching so much keep moving to open spots and cuts to the basket when Petro has the ball and is driving. He appears to be a pass first type point gaurd and we need to learn to take advantage of it. Typically we just stand and watch when our other gaurds are driving and working in isolation because there is a 75% chance they aren't passing it anywhere.

Ahhh.....ok there it is. I shouldn't have even asked who referred to him as a "trash player", because nobody did.

You got me!

So valiant of you to jump in and defend all these people who don’t exist

Yeah, I mean...I thought for a minute there would be raging hot takes and deleted posts and that you might be referring to those.

"Fine". I just can't understand when people use that term for our team. Fine like we won't have players on the police blotter and in the hospital? Fine, like we'll make the tournament? Fine like we'll contend for the B1G title? Fine like we'll contend for the Final Four.

Fine can mean a whole lot of things to a lot of different people.

I remain optimistic about the team this year, but much less so than before this game. I expected more earlier out of Petro. I thought the team would have growing pains, so the loss doesn't bother me. But the individuals aren't performing like I was hoping.

Nope just the usual Ben slander

He has a chance to do something nobody in the history of D1 basketball has ever done, but since he isn’t a PG none of you will care

LaTulip would absolutely fold you on this, sorry

Lack of effort is very disappointing. The guys did not play hard at all. UConn out hustled them everywhere on the court. Difficult to watch.

Hurley's post game presser was a good listen. Interesting character that guy.

I like Underwood’s presser message on getting tougher, nastier, grittier etc but those are cultural behaviors that often take multiple seasons to develop with roster consistency. I hope he’s not counting on that to suddenly develop with new players over the course of a few practices.
Exactly. The issue I have, and the horse has left the barn, is that we do not know how many of these players if any will be back next year.

A good way to do this would be to have set plays and set patterns to get players moving. Parking guys in a corner pretty much guarantees at least one player is standing and watching.

Ben's defense was not bad. He did not shoot unnecessary shots and have bad turnovers. Mirk's first half was filled with those, Andrej was no where to be found, Petro felt like a negative throughout.

Don't exactly know why Davis played all of crunch-time after sitting the whole day, had a bad shot as well as the foul. His value is very minimal. I thought Lee was more impressive.

Overall no one truly stood out other than Boswell. He is a one man crew and very impressive.

Moving without the ball is such an important aspect to having a good offense. These kids should watch video of Rip Hamilton.

Agreed. I think BU just went with that group as whole b/c they were on a bit of run. Just riding the hot hand…nothing more to it than that.

I wasn’t able to watch all of the game….not too upset about that honestly, but can anyone explain why Jake Davis was in and Andrej and David weren’t? I know Andrej was non existent earlier in the game

The cupcakes just do nothing to get you ready for these tough games. We have elite talent. But we’re an immature team that doesn’t understand what it takes yet to win. I’m not going to get frustrated yet, but growth needs to be happening and so far I haven’t seen that much. As Jerry Reed said: “We’ve got a long way to go and a short time to get there”

#372
One more rant….hopefully Underwood won’t “test” our team next season with a tough non conference schedule. Obviously we can’t compete

#373
Yes, the 2025 team was a master class in moving w/o the ball.
disagree. 2005 on the other hand, they were good.

What I miss the most from that team is having Dee Brown rip the ball from the opposing PG and taking it in for a layup. We've never had a guy like that since.

#374
I agree 100% I think Davis should only be used during blowout wins or losses. Let the freshman get some time

#375
"Nice role player" is not equal to "trash player." Just saying.

I read things such as that he was a mop up duty level player who belongs in the big south conference

Being that he’s played a ton of minutes on two good, but not great, Illinois teams… that’s obviously false, isn’t it?
