Here's the interesting thing - UConn was actually the most efficient team over the last third-ish of the season (1/15 onward) and SDSU was 6th according to Torvik's analytics site. So as crazy as a 4v5 seed championship match-up sounds on paper, these are both championship caliber teams.
I heard Brad Evans recommend using Torvik's date filtering tool to fill out brackets. Using that tip, I've had my 45 person pool locked up since last weekend
. Only picked UConn in the final though - still thought Bama would beat SDSU.

Ouch, from 1/15 on, we were ranked 61 in Torvik. So itās no surprise the season ended how it did. Had UCONN winning it!...but no SDSU in the final fourSadly will come in 5th at best in my main pool as I wasn't the only one picking them...still not bad out of 300+ entries...but this wasn't horseshoes nor hand grenades.
Oh and only the top 4 pay out....Doh!
I had just UConn playing Kansas State.
SDSU is somewhat of a complicated team. I saw them multiple times in conference play and they were fairly good at beating the Boise St's, New Mexico's but their style and track record in prior tournaments had me thinking they'd get bounced early. Yet, I'm not too surprised that they made it to this point either with their veterans and overall style of play. I had Charleston beating them in the 1st round and that turned out to be a very close game. I believe UCONN wins it but would not be surprised if this ends up being a close game given the style of play that SDSU can impose on their opponents.
My bracket will finish #2 in āFans of Illinoisā on ESPN tournament challengeā¦ has UConn as my national champion. My elite 8 has UConn, Texas, Zags.. those 3 + MSU/Kstate carried my bracket.
Also put future bet on UConn to win the natty at +1600 so go huskies!

I am with you on this. I think UConn pulls away in the last 12 minutes.
UConn will probably win easily. Then again, I thought Alabama would win easily too. SDSU has a habit of making teams play their rock fight style.
UConn has won big all year long. When they win, it's by 3 possessions or more. They have lost pretty much every game that has been close.
If you like UConn, don't be afraid of the points. They are likely to cover. If you think it will be close, you might think about taking SDSU to win.

This is going to be a beating. I hope it stays interesting, but UCONN'S size has been too much for the entire field. I don't see that changing tonight.
Which game official is from the B10?
I have to sayā¦.I thought the B10 was rough. After watching this yearās tournament, I think the officiating in the big ten might be too wimpy. I watch hand checking, two hand checking, shoving out of the lane. Shoving for rebounds. Could you imagine doing all this to Pickett or TJD? We might have a natty if we could have done this to May. I donāt mind some physical play and I certainly donāt want whistles every time down the floor but wow!!!
