They got a bad draw out of the gate by playing so many conference champions. There were fortunate by an upset happening or two but at the end of the day if you'aren't the #1 seed....you aren't going to get to play in front of your fans. We were VERY fortunate in 2005 in how the bracket played out location wise so we cant complain now. At the end of the day we won at least as many games as we should have ...and potentially one more than that. That's a great season!

UConn was certainly likely to win, I agree, and yet the Illini could have won. We missed a LOT of open shots. That was uncharacteristic. The outcome was not inevitable although the final score sure seems to indicate so. But that is not true.

I think this was a terrifically successful season. But I disagree about goal-post movement. Fans will fan. And they will hope -- just as I do -- for everything under the sun for the Illini.

I think it was a good game plan. If this game had been called the way most B10 games were called throughout the season, Clingan would have had 3 fouls in the first 15-16minutes of the game...refs just weren't going to call a foul on him because the offense initiated the contact. The Illini drew a lot of fouls this year by initiating (esp. TSJ) contact....I think once it was obvious that the game wasn't going to be called that way... we were slow to go away from that plan....Brad pretty much said so at the half with Andy Katz, in that we were going to keep taking it to them, we weren't going to change who were are

Someone correct me as I may be wrong, I thought that Brad interview was the one where about 1/3 of the way into the first half, when they grab the head coach for an in-game chat as they come out of commercial. I say this just because I think we did somewhat adjust at the half and tried more 3s in the second half, it's just that none of them would fall.

I understand and appreciate that most Illinois fans don't want to say anything negative about the team, and especially about the coaching staff. However, it's hard to avoid the fact that we played terrible in the UConn game, and that BU's game plan and in-game adjustments were suspect to say the least.

To put things into perspective, Northwestern, down two starters (including their 7' center, who is their second best player and the only big they had who may have had a chance to slow down Clingan), lost to UConn by 17 pts and never allowed UConn to get on a double-digit run (let alone a 30-0 run). There's no reason that we should've lost in the embarrassing way we did, and it was embarrassing. People actually cheered in the bar where I was watching when Herman scored to end that 30-0 run. I fully expected us to lose, but I thought we'd at least manage to lose by single-digits, and never expected us to be UConn easiest win this postseason.
