UI prof arrested for SFC incident

The dancing chief at the half time had to go. That's cool. Let's bring in the Blues Brothers or something for the 3-in-1. I'm cool with that, but can someone please explain why this is okay...
I tried to link picture of Seminole logo and failed and then got a giant Chief Illiniwek.
Meh.
I want to know why the Seminole one is cool and ours isn't. That's all I've always wondered.
This was stupid 18 years ago and it's just worse now.
Sorry if my links didn't go thru. I suck at posting.
Chief Illiniwek looked cool on a t-shirt and everyone had to go and be giant @#$@%$ about it.
I'd rather be the University of Illinois Ron Swansons at this point.
This Chief thing is like keeping your brain dead grandma on life support for 20 years. Somebody pull the plug.
And the professor that photographed someone in a restroom should be threatened with jail time and convinced to plead out. That's illegal and should go no the asshat's record same as anyone else.
Let's all get back to worrying about our QB position.

meanwhile Native culture is still unknown

True. I'd be happy getting rid of the 3-in-1 entirely for a few games and have some native Americans in to do a real tribal ceremony. We could pay them and donate some cash to the Native American House on campus or put some money for scholarships and help get some kids to school.

There has been a relationship between FSU and the Seminole tribe for a long, long time, and IIRC the tribe gets a cut of merchandising.

Illinois, on the other hand, had no association with any tribes from the Illinois Confederation (of which the Peoria is the only one with an extant organization) and instead used regalia, including war feathers, from the Sioux.
