Week 1 Games

#1
Week 1 already has a ton of exciting games of consequence to the conference and national season.

PSU / Wisc
Indiana / Iowa
tOSU / Minny

Georgia / Clemson - should be huge for the CFP
Miami / Bama
NC / VT
Boise / UCF
FSU / ND

Wisc over PSU, IU over Iowa, and tOSU all over the goophers.

I think UGA is good this year, but I don't think they're "Beat Clemson" good. I take Clemson by a touchdown. Miami will get their clocks cleaned, and I'd love to see the Noles trample ND into the turf.

There's also Temple at Rutgers on Thursday (I honestly know nothing about the Owls' FB program), MSU at Northwestern next Friday, and I'm calling a Western Michigan upset over a hapless looking scUM next Saturday, setting off yet another season of speculation over Harbaugh's job security.

Illini are not the only in-state school playing today though. EIU is at Indiana State tonight with kick-off set for 5:00 PM CT and the game airing on ESPN+. Other games airing today include UConn-Fresno State, Hawaii-UCLA, and Southern Utah-San Jose State.

Final score in Terre Haute: Indiana State 26 EIU 21

Panthers fall to 0-1 on the season. EIU returns to action next Saturday at South Carolina. Kickoff is set for 6:00 PM and the game will air on SEC Network+ and ESPN+.

This weekend's Oklahoma-Tulane game that was scheduled to be played on Tulane's campus in New Orleans has been moved to Norman. The two schools have agreed to meet at a future date in New Orleans.

Tulane has cancelled all classes on their campus through September 12th with classes being online only September 13th through October 6th.

Tough for Tulane. Feel like Oklahoma will just buy their way out of that in the future.

Damn near impossible for smaller schools to get P5 schools to come to their place.

True, but unlike Wyoming (as a random example ;)), New Orleans/LA are prime recruiting terrritory for OU as well as just about everyone else. I'm guessing they might go ahead and play that one in Nola whenever it's rescheduled.

Exactly. The game is a 2-for-1 deal. Plus Tulane will still be the home team for this weekend's game and will get all the gate receipts.

Kinda crazy how many people think Prime coaches at Jacksonville State(Alabama) when he coaches at Jackson St(Mississippi).

Not a big Buckeye guy, but I really hope they hammer Minny tomorrow night.

I give them props for what they've done. I compare how tOSU has moved forward over the last 20 years vs Michigan, and it's night and day. One program making the right calls at almost every step, while the other makes the wrong one. And I'd rather have a nationally relevant team in the conference than not (assuming it's not the Illini). PSU (on the field) and the Badgers have done well too. Will be interesting to see what kind of program BB can build here.

Also helps that they've been lucky enough to have Heisman candidates at QB every year since I can remember. I can't recall the name of a single Michigan QB, since the 90s.

I can think of one that transferred out a few years ago... ;)

Bowling Green only down 8 to the Vols at half. A bowling green team we would have demolished last year, obviously a long way to go but if your a Vols fan can't be happy with that score at half.

Kirk Herbstreet just referenced us during the OSU-Minnesota game. Gotta love it.

don’t love Minny winning though…
