Anyone know what’s up with Josh McCray? He had only 2 of Georgia’s 44 rushing attempts. Would be shame if he left us for that.

Yeah! Don't be distracted by the silly fact that you are literally turning the ball over to the other team on downs!!

It's clearly a lostover! You lost the ball over on downs! Or maybe a youdonthavetheballanymoreover, because you don't have the ball anymore silly goose!
Or how 'bout a gaveitupover! You gave the ball up doofuses!

They are and always have been scored differently. You don't combine them.

2 separate items.

Someone, please, show me a box score where a turnover on downs is listed in the turnover line item.

Tx had 1 turnover. That's it.

For whatever reason I've seen people start combining the 2 this year. Never seen it before. Why?

I kinda agree with you. Using the logic that the turnover on downs is a "turnover", then punting the ball away is also a "turnover" . . .

This reminded me so much of our game vs UNC during Lovie's first year. It wasn't the opener, but we played a cupcake week 1 so it was the first "real" game of the season. I made the trip up to Champaign and the atmosphere was better than it had been in such a long time. "WE ARE SO BACK" We took an early lead and the vibes were insane. And then, BOOM. It was over.

They v much need a smaller stadium. The Bruins average 50% of capacity for home games. Some of that is distance from campus, but I wonder how big a factor student demographics and urban location are. It's a minority-majority, nerdier university with sizable Asian and Hispanic populations in the second largest city in the county that is heavily Asian and Hispanic. They may just not care about college football...
Yes; however, they cared back when the team was competitive. Winning solves some, if not all, attendance problems.

Rarely does a week one deliver such a bounty for hate watchers / schadenfreude.

- Kalen DeBoer’s Alabama looked slow and unprepared. Calls for his head 14 games into his tenure.

- Arch Manning exposed as not quite the Heismann favorite ESPN built him up to be.

- Army loses at home in a buy game to Tarelton State

- Bill Belichick and Matt Patricia proving yet again they’re worthless without Tommy Brady and a favorable whistle.

For fans of chaos and of watching dynasties fall this was an amazing start to the season.

“we need you (as our RB4). You’re the missing piece (on our practice squad)”

sad but ultimately an adult that made a financial decision

Does Brady have any eligibility left? Only reason those cut off sweat shirts succeed
I was a Brady hater for years saying he was a system QB, etc. When he went and won a super bowl with Tampa Bay and Belichick continued to flop in those years, it became pretty apparent, I was WRONG all those years... Brady WAS the Patriots dynasty, Belichick was lucky to be there for the ride imo.

The good news is that our RB room can and has overcame this decision as it gives Valentine more reps. Josh made a financial decision and we have moved on from it.
As you said, I’m assuming he got more money. He’s playing closer to home. People seem to forget he wasn’t getting tons of carries first half of last year, so how many carries would he have gotten here with everybody healthy. I have no problem with him leaving and truly wish him the best. I am bothered that some of the posts on here about him and Twitter seem to revel in the fact he didn’t play much. Team has moved on, and it’s time for fans to do the same.

Bill's not a bad coach the game just passed him by. I know Lovie wasn't as successful as Bill in the NFL but I feel these situations are similar.

Bill brought in 70 new players, there'll be growing pains.

My question is how their "starter" won the job over a guy who could actually complete a forward pass. Come on, Bill.

UCLA playing its home football games in the Rose Bowl is about as as sad as the Cleveland Indians playing in the old Municipal Stadium, which seated around 80k, in the '70s. Their average attendance was around 10,000 and it wasn't uncommon for them to draw 3-4,000. Imagine how demoralizing it would be to have that as your home field.

Every time I see footage of a UCLA home game "crowd" these days I wince. The Rose Bowl deserves better.
when I see the empty seats at Busch III I feel the same way..............I really really do....................

Totally agree that he's not a "bad" coach by any means. There are ALOT of good coaches in the NFL that never win a super bowl. I'm just saying that we put Belichick on this pedestal because of the Super Bowls and I think there are plenty of good coaches who, in his shoes, win a bunch with Brady and the gang.

Also agree on the QB thing... wildly bad.

Rose Bowl was packed weekly back when I was doing security there in the 2010s. Assuming it's the recent direction of the team that has it down.

Coincidentally, Pru, a buddy of mine mentioned last week that he was watching a home Cards game on ESPN and was shocked at how small the crowd was. That's just not right.

They were driving up and down the field, just didn't get into the end zone.
Indeed. If uyou make your opponent make enough plays there's more opportunities for your opponent to make mistakes...like getting into situations where (a) the don't make a first down in three plays and (b) they go for it on fourth, and don't make it. Oh, and another mistake, not opting for a field goal attempt and getting some points on the board. Was it two years ago that Michigan beat Illinois with field goals (including that last one where a favorable non-call let them get into field goal range?)

As an Alabama fan who also loves Illinois, this was a brutal weekend. Watching Alabama Saturday night was truly painful. Been a fan since the late 70's and cannot believe how bad they looked. Soft, unprepared, unenthusiastic. It was pretty disgusting to watch. I actually remember watching the last time Bama lost their first game of the season back in 2001 to UCLA. Felt like season was over after that game. Pretty much think the same thing now.

And DeBoer can go away. As soon as possible is ok with me. Realize won't happen until the end of the year. He is now 6-4 against unranked teams. Saban was 124-4 in 17 seasons against unranked teams. Let that soak in.
