Now that our playoff hopes are shot, I need to recalibrate my rooting interests.

1) Root for underdogs like Ga Tech, Vandy, Virginia, BYU.

2) Root for the SEC to get smashed in the playoff. This means I want tOSU, Indiana, and Oregon looking sharp.

3) Root for new blood atop the SEC. It's looking unlikely but I'd rather see someone other than Bama or Georgia in the SEC Championship.

Texas is by far the most overrated team in the country. Miss St and Kentucky both should've been losses. Pulling out both of those games was a below 1% probability.

It's a 6-6/7-5 team that might go 9-3. They have Illinois' luck from last season.

Root for all of the underdogs. If the underdogs keep winning we’ll be in the CFP. 😏

It's not as impossible as people think. Just need everyone other than Miss, UGA, Bama, TAMU to have 4 losses in the SEC. Everyone but BYU to have 3 losses from the B12. Everyone but GA Tech to have 3 losses from the ACC. And everyone other than the top 3 big ten teams to have 4 losses (maybe USC is the exception since we beat them).

This post will sound rubbish, but it’s actually easier than it would be in most years. Still in the 2% range probably.

I think Iowa is the most underrated team. Or Washington for that matter.

Miss St is awful at closing out games. They should be 6-1. Would not surprise me if they lead in every remaining game in the 4th and lose them all.

I'm really rooting for Washington to win their next 3 to set up an amazing matchup against Oregon in the final game of the year. Would essentially be a play in game for them. Husky stadium would be rocking and it would surely be a night game.

It would be even crazier if Oregon picked up a second loss too. Winner goes to the CFP.

Top games today include Vanderbilt-Texas, Oklahoma-Tennessee, and Cincinnati-Utah.

Today's schedule among the state schools:

-2:00 PM, ESPN+: UT Martin at EIU, Northern Iowa at ISU
-4:00 PM, ESPN+: SIU at Murray State

Mid-week MACtion starts this week so NIU's next game is Wednesday at Toledo.

Now that the beloved have won, I get to multi-screen Iowa State-Arizona State, TTU-KSU, MSU-Minn., and whoever. Guess I'll pull for ISU, since some extender family went there and I work with some Cyclone grads.
