hmmm. don’t know what to make of this northwestern game. don’t love that northwestern looks at least as good as we did against the ‘necks
Keep in mind, Northwestern was the 31 point favorite.

But yeah, we can’t take anything away from that Western Illinois win. Even in some of our 2-10 seasons, we’d beat an FCS school by 30.

could also be we were keeping playbook under wraps, whereas northwestern is going balls out to get one of a few wins.

I'm glad we avoid Oregon in the regular season. I get what Gundy said though. How are teams supposed to compete with Oregon or other teams when they have $40 million plus to pay a college football team with Nike paying for the squad?? They are already up 20 or Okla St with 4 minutes left 1st qtr.

Mike benefitted plenty from the hundreds of millions of dollars that Boone Pickens poured into programs in Stillwater. I get that's not apples to apples with NIL but this is weak sauce and Gundy is the last coach who should be complaining about programs spening money. He needs to remember that he's a man (and well past 40).

I'm very aware that Okla St did having met T Boone at a Country Club near his ranch 3x. I ran a club in Texas and put on 3 events for him and some of his companies. He was a cool dude. Like you said it wasn't NIL then but still my point is that's very hard to compete against teams like Oregon and Phil Knights crazy donations. We have some but Nike and Oil money is insane. I knew a lot of crazy rich guys that love Texas, Texas Tech, OU, Okla St., and others. That type of wealth is crazy. It just very different out there for sure for teams like that and I hope we do play Oregon because if so it will mean it was an amazing season for us in 2025.
