Quite a fall for Texas, nice to see after 90% of the post-game things I've seen talk about how they outgained and outplayed OSU and any kind of decent QB play gets them the win. That was not my impression of the game - OSU defense looked 85-Bears like at times. To hold everyone over and be angry about for a bit, here are the updated SP+ top 25:

SP+’s other stat, post game win expectancy, gave Ohio State just an 18% chance of winning that game. That’s the lowest post game win expectancy of any team who won this weekend.Quite a fall for Texas, nice to see after 90% of the post-game things I've seen talk about how they outgained and outplayed OSU and any kind of decent QB play gets them the win. There's a reason AM looked that bad. While I would agree with those that say he has been over-hyped due to his name, he is still a good QB.
And now, having written words complementing OSU, I must go and Listerine my eyes, face, and hands.
Well aware and that was the main part of my 90% comment. Yet the same SP+ drops Texas 8 slots. Seems contradictory but maybe this is the 'should vs did' debate.SP+’s other stat, post game win expectancy, gave Ohio State just an 18% chance of winning that game. I agree. That does seem contradictory. Usually if you outplay a team with a higher ranking, you go up, even if you lose the game.Well aware and that was the main part of my 90% comment. Yet the same SP+ drops Texas 8 slots. Seems contradictory but maybe this is the 'should vs did' debate.
Connelly explained that in his article. Both Texas and OSU dropped, because the problems were reflected more as bad offense than great defense, so the bad offense dragged both teams down despite both defenses coming out looking good.I agree. That does seem contradictory. Usually if you outplay a team with a higher ranking, you go up, even if you lose the game.
the fact that KSU is still receiving a ton of votes shows how silly these polls are.Illinois remains at #12 in Coaches Poll

Does a Hi/Lo of 12/12 mean that every single coach in the pool voted us 12th?
1pm CT.When do new rankings drop for football? Totally not used to looking forward to those coming out.
That’s what I expected. Sure FSU beat Bama, but the former was unranked and by the looks of that game the latter didn’t deserve the ranking it had.Interesting that the only team that leapfrogged us is....South Carolina.
nice to see you posting again Mr. Stoddard....it's been a minute.....it really really has................Interesting that the only team that leapfrogged us is....South Carolina.
I mean, don't get me wrong, I'm thrilled we're #11 in football. However, how the HELL did we only jump 1 spot after throttling WIU 52-3, yet South Carolina, a team we BEAT in the Citrus Bowl last year(I know, I know, last season isn't now, but still...) jumps THREE spots AND passes us after beating freakin' Virginia Tech by a score of only 24-11?? HOW??Illinois moves up 1 spot to #11 in AP Poll

I expected #11 but I expected ASU to still be ahead of us and South Carolina to still be behind us.I mean, don't get me wrong, I'm thrilled we're #11 in football. Oh wait, they're an SEC school(even tho they didn't play an SEC team this past weekend), that's why...![]()
I always enjoy seeing Illinois ranked higher than So. Carolina!
VT would beat WIU by a wide margin. I dont know if that means South Carolina should vault in to the top 10, but VT is much stronger than WIU.South Carolina jumped us by grinding out a win over VT?
