So weird having an elite matchup like Louisville vs Florida St at 11 am. But I like it, a full day of great games. This will hopefully be the first time I get to watch Lamar Jackson live. Then I'll watch the Illini and follow the Bama/Ole Miss game. And to end the night I will switch back and forth between MSU and OSU. There goes my productive Saturday.:D

I would love to see NW start the season off 0-3...

Why stop there? They stand a real chance of starting out 0-6, and may not get their 2nd win until they play Purdue (and that's a big if in my mind).

I think this is the year that Fitzy realizes no matter how arrogant he is, he's still at Northwestern.

If only if only. I love it when he pouts on the sideline.

How many of you think NDSU will upset Iowa?

Edit: just FYI NDSU has won five straight FCS championships...

I don't think it'll happen this year. Although NDSU has an amazing FCS program and has beaten many good FBS teams in recent years, I think Iowa will be too much for them Saturday.

Either Louisville is really good, or FSU is overrated...I'm leaning towards the latter

Eh, I'd go with Louisville being good. FSU already beat Ole Miss, so you can't make the argument that this is their first test.

Actually, that's a good point. I forgot about that. Damn..Louisville is scary. Hopefully with McGee, some of that Louisville offense will trickle down to the Illini offense.

NDSU with the ball down 1 with 1:53 left. Wisconsin also only up 1 score with not much time to go.

Wisconsin hangs on, 23-17. North Dakota State's win over Iowa apparently is their 6th straight win against FBS teams. Amazing.

Final score in Normal: EIU 24 ISU 21

Panthers finish the non-conference portion of their schedule 2-1. They begin OVC play next Saturday at home vs. Austin Peay.

Always wondered: why is Eastern in the OVC and not the Missouri Valley?

Good news: Nebraska edges Oregon 35-32. Big 10 finishes 3-1 in the regular season against the PAC-12.

I think that when they joined the OVC it was mainly because they wanted to be sure they'd have a conference home for all of their sports. Their men's soccer team did at one time play in the Missouri Valley but left the conference about 5 years ago and is now in the Summit League.

As an EIU alum, I would prefer to have them play in the Missouri Valley (I'll get into why they won't here in a moment), in football at the very least, as it's a better way to draw students to the games because they'll have likely heard of most of the schools in the Missouri Valley.

That being said, the school is too small (they would be the smallest public school in the conference with about 3000 less than the next closest) and doesn't have the facilities to compete in the Missouri Valley Conference at this time (even football would be a long shot right now). As much as I would love for it to happen, it'll be years before it ever does if it even does happen.

Thanks for the informative response. Appreciate it.
