Penn state is good
The cream shall rise. Which give me good feels re our Illini, the way they've come on in the second half. Can they come out hot against FSU?

Hoping Lovie believes our miscreants have learned their lessons. He won't say until just before gametime, right, considering how tight he plays his cards to his chest.

And man, if I'm not going to see this game despite paying for YTTV I'm going to be, oh, very disappointed.

Or maybe Illinois would pound GT.

Yes - probably wasn't clear enough but I thought there was enough Transitive Property stuff going on there where we look closer to FSU than the line predicts.

Penn State will be well rested. Playing all 2nd and 3rd string now, and my God......they have some serious talent in their 2nd and 3rd ranks.

Kent State offense completely shut down today.

And wow......so much for the Maryland hype.

Rutgers, Maryland and Nebraska all look like very winnable games for the Illini from the way they're all playing today. The question is whether or not the Illini will capitalize on those opportunities.

This is meant as no disrespect to Illini athletics. That would be against the rules.
That assumes a level of competence we have not seen at Illinois for some time.

Illini outscored Kent St. 28-7 in the 2nd half when we got ish together finally. Penn St. outscored Kent St. 28-10 in the first half. The way my strange mind works I see this as a positive.

Eh, Penn State sleep-walked through that first half. No energy at all. They decided to start playing when KSU threatened to make it a one-score game right before half. And since that moment, PSU has scored 28 straight.

That Nebraska score is embarrassing to the big ten. Shocked. They looked better against CU

And they looked baaad. Troy—who?—has been going through Nebraska like the proverbial hot knife.

Nebraska was so excited for the Frost hire. Were they expecting a down year?

Sort of. I recall predictions for them being around .500 for the year, or a little better. The play at Michigan, at Wisconsin, and at Ohio St this year! And at Iowa.

And Nebraska just threw a pick with a couple min left. Yikes

Wow, Nebraska. Wow, Maryland. Bad, bad, bad.

Penn State's 3rd string QB just threw a 95 yard TD to a 3rd string receiver. Both were 4* kids. They're going to be a load next week.

Also looks like a good game brewing in Ames. Iowa State only down 7 to Oklahoma.

I will say, Matt Campbell at Iowa state is a good coach. He has kept this Iowa state OU game close without his starting QB. Iowa state is what I wish Illinois looked like under the Lovie Rebuild. Campbell’s teams just don’t panic and play hard. (They have a MUCH better line than we have, in both sides of the ball). Side note, Somehow this makes the Beckman hire even worse; pours salt in wound.

I am more concerned about an embarrassing UofI this year - so if other B1G opponents are down this year - YEA!

Last season Troy won at LSU 24-21 and were 11-2 overall. Good program recently.

Happy for Troy ! on a side note, I really REALLY hate Pedo State. They shouldn't even be allowed to have a football team!
