Looking at the current slate of games, there are some classic conference matchups: Colorado vs. UCF; Oklahoma vs. Auburn; Arkansas vs. A&M; Wisconsin vs. USC; and Mississippi State vs. Texas. Oh baby, the pageantry and history of college football. In all seriousness, this is giving me get-off-my-lawn vibes right now. Jeez, I'm old.

It's smaller. It is a smaller national picture in college football.

The vastness is what I loved.

The next part will be realizing how losses that seemed important actually weren't come November.

My friend, you're not old. I'm old.

It is what it is. We all continue to submit ourselves to this relationship that we can't seem to quit. Just lie back and think of England.

I know they don’t want to make college football more of a review fest than it already is, but it seems like offsides, false starts and pass interference plays should at least be eligible for a challenge review. Those are plays that can be definitively determined (usually) by a second look, and in a case like today at the Big House, the incorrect call sealed the outcome.

For a few teams, this is probably true, but I don't see a problem with it. Having elite teams excluded from the playoff because it only goes 4 deep always seemed stupid to me. Having a G5 team plus all conference champs, plus the most deserving at-large teams will make for a much more exciting November and bowl season. Does, for example, Georgia have a bigger margin for error than last season? Arguably, but the way the BIG and SEC added elite programs, the schedules will be more difficult and 2 losses will be more of a realistic possibility. Depends on schedules I suppose.

The one drawback I'm expecting, and I'm not sure how big it will be, is the BIG and SEC conference championships. The teams that play for them will get better seeding and bragging rights, but those games won't feel the same knowing both will get in. I suppose it's possible a blow-out loser could become a bubble team, but that seems unlikely. Will take a few seasons to get a feel for how this all works in practice.

Maybe in the last two minutes or something.

As we know Illinois will likely lose a game deciding the Big Ten Championship because of a blown off sides call. Then they'll change to rule.

UNLV beating up Fresno State after the off the field drama is pretty cool to see.

Is Northwestern the only B1G team to lose to a newcomer thus far? Not sure how many have matched up to date

They were right about the value of the qb, apparently
I mean he was a transfer up from a FCS school that is mostly just a dual threat athletic type. I don't honestly think those kinds of QB's are hard to find. Every school has at least one on the roster.

USC may drop out of the polls this week if they lose.
They should. That's right. All of the USC homies are probably discouraged right now. Looks like the DUCKS could be the lone standing team out west. They have not played anyone yet. What an upset that would be if the Orange and Blue rolled into Eugene and got a W. Oh well, a guy can dream can't he?

ND defense soft and Lville offense not too bad when they're not turning the ball over

Michigan is a very winnable game for us

You mean UK might be a top 10 team. We already played KU’s defense this season and won.
