Watching ped state lose really takes away some of the sting from the Indiana loss.i never unstoppable how allar was ever so highly rated let alone a supposed 1st round pick.does this put Franklin on the hot seat?supposedly this was supposed to be ped state year in the big ten and cfp?

I don’t know if ESPN can do that and still get Herbstreit to Georgia-Auburn. Even in a private jet, that’s cutting it really close.

They did it last year when he worked the Red River Rivalry game and that had a 2:30 PM CT kickoff. He ended up leaving around 1/2 way or 2/3 of the way through the show but they still had a camera crew with him on the way to the airport and he was still doing analysis.

How is Notre Dame still ranked? Boise St. is giving them all they can handle AT HOME! We better jump them regardless.
Notre Dame, for better or worse, is 4 points away from being undefeated, losing to #3 Miami by 3 on the road, and by 1 to #6 A&M at home. Also helps that they started the season ranked like 7th.

ND's problem is there is zero juice left on their schedule. Best opponent is USC, in a couple weeks.

The James gang now with two conference losses. They are going to get at least one, and probably two, more.

“They Are!” now squarely behind the Illini in pursuit of the playoff

Apart from that, James, dear lord, Mr. Facts himself.

That loss to a winless rudderless team managed cemented his legacy.

To be totally honest (and I know this will sound pretty callous), Herbstreit should just do the entire show from the Georgia-Auburn site next weekend. With Lee Corso retiring, Herbstreit can be remote on days when he’d have a really long flight. Sure, if he has a quick flight like he did today (Tuscaloosa to Tallahassee), he can still do Gameday on site. But for weeks like next weekend, there’s really no reason for him to start in Eugene at 6 AM local time (or more like 4:30 for prep), then to fly from one corner of the country to the other.

They’re still going to be ranked late teens or early twenties.
Um, there is legitimately no way they are still in the top 20. They just did something that hasn’t happened in 49 years. Pollsters drop teams 10 spots for losing on the road to fringe top-25 teams, let alone winless teams with no head coach.

For all we know, they may just send him and Fowler to Dallas anyway.

And his travel schedule is going to be busy enough as it is next week that I don't think going from Eugene to Auburn is going to be that big of a factor. You have to remember he still does the Thursday night game so he'll go from Nashville (where he lives now if I'm not mistaken) to New York for Eagles/Giants. Then travel on either late Thursday or early Friday from New York to Eugene.

As reference, the Illini dropped 14 spots after the Bloomington debacle. In many ways, what Penn State did is arguably much worse. They could be excused for losing in OT to Oregon, but they just got out worked by a winless team that lost at home by 25 to New Mexico. Add in the fact that Penn State has yet to win against a P4 opponent, I expect them to fall very hard.

Not sure they completely fall out of top 25, but I expect them to fall at least 15 spots or so (which would be about 23). You are spot on...near 0% chance Penn State is in top 20 come tomorrow.

Drop to 23-25 sounds right.
