#19 is my guess. Don’t think we’ll pass any byes, but can see us passing Vanderbilt, Iowa State, and FSU.

I have a feeling we wont move the needle much. I bet they will have Texas, PSU and ISU ahead of us. We move up maybe to 21. That 53 point loss still lingers inn the voters mind. I hope we get to like 18 but I cannot see it.

The voters are a joke. A big loss to a top ten team shouldn’t matter like the worst loss in 40 years to UCLA. We need to kick voting to the curb and get these name brands out. On top of it, Texas can’t even beat a power 4.

I was correct last week so let's go for 2 in a row. I've got Penn State, Texas, and FSU all dropping below us and nobody jumping us. The question marks for me are Iowa State, Vandy, Michigan, and Notre Dame. I think Vandy should stay ahead of us don't know if they will, Iowa State probably stays ahead of us, but we could jump Michigan or Notre Dame as well. I think we jump 1 of those 4 teams so put me down for 18th.

Oh and if we or anyone else in the Top 25 for that matter is behind Texas or PSU, that's a disgrace at this point in the season. They do not even have a remotely decent win and both have a poor loss. They should be unranked. Will they? Probably not, but neither should be ahead of us.

Big game next week. Big game.

If you are putting so much weight on our one performance, then surely Penn State falls like a rock. They just lost to a previously winless team (who lost by 25 points at home to New Mexico), and Penn State has no P4 wins. Same goes for Texas.

I don't like ND as much as anyone else here, but why would they drop below us with 2 tight losses to ranked teams - U by 3 and TAMU by 1?

I believe this to be the truth. If we're looking objectively, if that happened to any other team, we'd ride that occurrence. When talking about us, the trump card will continue to be "but they lost to Indiana by 53". The only way to put that story in a box is to beat Ohio State, quite frankly. Indiana beating Oregon by three TD's would also help.

I don't think we actually will jump them but I do think it's theoretically possible. Neither them nor Michigan really impressed this week. I think Michigan is the more likely of the 2 we might jump, but we're also not all that far off from Notre Dame based in vote count, so I don't think it happens, but it is possible.

Based on reviewing a few ballots from media posted online, I think we are around 17. Texas / PSU are out on some of these and 23-25 on others. This would be great news as it virtually guarantees we are top 25 heading into bye week and going to Washington which is a pivotal game. Win that one and we have a shot at 10-2 otherwise think 8-4 is realistic possibly 9-3.

Looking back on it I can’t point to one loss in the last two years where we said we should have won but blew it. There were some games we weren’t looking good but pulled it out. Would like to clean that up but realize talent is already exceeding expectations.

I mentioned this in another thread. I think a significant number of voters will think that UCLA is more like the team they were anticipating at the beginning of the year so therefore the loss isn't as bad as it might seem.

I actually think there's merit to that thinking.
