UCLA might be on a bit of a downward spiral here... lost 4 of last 5, and 3 straight... play @RU today (which has looked like the second worst team in the conference)

Rutgers to me is similar to USC: a ton of talent but have grossly underachieved.

Everyone marveled at USC's portal additions over the summer (seven 4* xfers).

Not really. Everyone kinda expected them to be a mid to bottom tier team offseason/preseason.

I'd hope they aren't anywhere near the bottom, or missing the BTT...

Yeah, it was a running joke every time he signed another player. A lot of people have short memories. They are really loaded and might be putting it all together, which would be great if that could be raised to a quad 2 by season's end.

False. They were picked 14th out of 18 teams in the B10 preseason poll. At the very most people thought they could be a middle of the B10, maybe a tournament team.

Expectations were way higher for Rutgers, who was picked 7th and were ranked to start the year.

I think foby (as I was) is referring to the perception on this message board, though. Their incoming xfer class was indeed loaded, so I feel publications have gotten lucky with their preseason ranking.

They were ranked low due to them being a wild card, and actually not that different of a situation than us in that a new team of transfers was assembled. Low at who is listed as being underrated.

Minny up on the Twerps on the road. Maryland just came back home from a West Coast road trip. I think the travel from coast to coast is wearing on some teams. That much travel is a lot to deal with.

The twerps are in control with under 8 to go. Minny and Nutgers are the only conference teams without 10+ wins.

Rutgers with the win over UCLA. The Bruins are free-falling rapidly.
True…and it’s starting to smell like desperation. At this point, Cronin has thrown his whole team and staff under the bus…without taking ANY personal accountability, whatsoever…while simultaneously praising himself.

I actually kinda thought I liked M. Cronin…but man apparently I was wrong…he’s coming off like a major d-bag. He straight up claims HE doesn’t have to prove himself to anyone: “I don’t have to do anything. I’m only ‘53 and I’ve already won 500 games” 😂

If it’s so awful, why not just quit, dude?

He was griping about officiating saying “the newcomers” aren’t being treated fairly. And I was like “yeah, buddy… welcome to the B1G! Nobody likes the officiating here.”

Thought I liked him and then was wrong...throwing his whole team under the bus. You're giving me horrid flashbacks to the reign of a certain Illini basketball coach.

UCLA just isn’t very good. When you are a P5 school and your leading scorer is Tyler Bilodeau, who was only second leading scorer on Pac 12 last place (5-15) Beavers, you’re in trouble. I really like Bilodeau, but if he’s THE man, likely going to struggle in B1G.
