He has been injured a couple times … missed some games. Today was him returning again. Played 20 minutes. The guy is a dawg with skills on both ends… very athletic from what I have seen. Very good defender. Looks top 5 lotto pick easy.
Hard to evaluate other things beyond abilities when injury has factored in.
The injury story doesn’t make a lot of sense. The kid doesn’t seem to want to play.

We also pursued Pryce Sandfort, who turned out to be pretty good. The portal is hit or miss. Really have to be on-point with your evaluation and roster fit.
my point would be, I bet he's getting paid a fraction of what dix is. I think the staff has done a great job of knowing when to hold em and when to fold em if the price isn't right.

St. Mary's giving Gonzaga a game in Spokane so far.

End of an era in that rivalry too with tonight being last conference game in Spokane between the two (they'll face off in Moraga at the end of February).

They mentioned on broadcast that St. Mary's has beaten the Zags at least once the last 4 seasons and is the only WCC school to sweep Gonzaga in a regular season series matchup since Mark Few has been there. They did it in the 2015-16 season and last season.

Not sure how I’ve never thought of this, but given Gonzaga’s schedule every year and constant high rankings … Saint Mary’s has got to be the second favorite team of the fan base of every program that competes for top 3 seeds regularly. 🤣
Gonzaga has the formula down pat. Win some good non conference games, ride the usual media buzz through a conference with two tough games, get a high seed, get exposed in the round of 32. Repeat ad infinitum.
