Wow. Purdue fouls Rice and it’s not called.
I'll have to admit, a bit of me wanted an IU win thinking it might be part of a master plan to save Woodson.

Hate to say it, but I like what Woodson did tonight. He benched Rice and played guys Leal. Brad needs to do that and play DGL over Ben.

The Hoosiers got hosed in the last minute . . . Typical B1G officiating, and I'm not one to complain (well, not too much anyway) about officiating.
What we just saw - that's the difference. As much as people wanna blame Brad and certain things, it's just that. It's not like we're not competitive... it's just we can't have those things go our way.
Purdue didn't play any much better... but they can make their free throws, we can't... they can get a basket with the ball to win it, we can't... they can hack a guy on the winning shot and get a no call, we can't....

In other news, Groce and the Zips are rolling. 9 straight wins, undefeated in conference play, and they have risen up to 93 in Torvik.
I haven't seen them play, but the stats say they shoot a lot of 3s and play fast. Could be a dangerous 12/13 seed if they can make it to the dance.

The PU IU game was a good college game. I still can't believe we allowed to easy baskets on inbound plays. We hit just a few 3's we win against Nb. Still hard to get the game last night out of my mind. KJ can't keep getting his pocket pick. Get Tomi back.
They rebound well for having a very small line up. I’d pick them as a possible Cinderella. Quick small guard heavy lineups seem to do well in March.

I've seen them on CBS Sports Network a couple of times this season. Fun team to watch, and Groce has seemed to find his niche at Akron. I don't think I'd feel very comfortable seeing them in a hypothetical 5-12 or 6-11 matchup.
Groce was hired by us largely for his tournament success. He's always shown the ability to get his players up for a few important games each season. Sustained excellence, not so much.
He's going to get another upset or two in the tourney in his career.
Happy for him. Not sure if he'll have another higher opportunity.

Trying to figure out what the stick figure is on Wake Forest's uniforms playing Pitt today. Looks like a guy trying to board a flight with a carry-on.
Steve Forbes also looking like he's hitting Costco on the way home from the arena with his Wake Forest hooded sweatshirt. Maybe that's taking the whole coach casual thing a little too far with that one.
