I'm not sure what was worse with a discrepancy that lopsided.... listening the Purdue fans whine about like the one time in 45 minutes a call actually went NU's way, or listening to Hummel not call out any of those bad calls. Both nauseating

46 free throws to 8, that's insane
Purdue fans firmly believe their guys have never, in the history of the sport, committed a foul.

Also to be fair I don’t think NW beats us without friendly whistle in Evanston

Just cruised by Hammer and Rails (Purdue blog). Wow. A few people acknowledge the hook, but still think they were getting hosed by the refs. For example:

Jones hooked him before he moved his leg. Look ... it's one missed call for NWU vs. 5,000 against Purdue; so it's pretty stupid for Collins to make such as arse of himself.

There were easily 2-3x the calls against us than there were against them.

That should be a suspension for Collins. Absolutely atrocious behavior. Refs have bent over backwards all game for his team. He has zero to complain about.

the Front Range
I remember Lou Henson getting a technical because he wrote "42-9," reflecting the game's free throw disparity, on a note and told Deon Thomas to hand it to the ref.
That is a great story, classic Lou.

I am terrified at the idea of an engineering school being that bad at basic math.

You've cracked the code, fans are homers. This was so obvious. I don't know why we didn't think of this before?
