Why do college basketball coaches continue to allow final possessions to look like that? It's a nationwide epidemic.

You have to move the ball. Dribbling 35 ft from the basket. Drive and kick or drive to get fouled. Give PSU some credit.

Look at Michigans road scores. They aren’t nearly the same results compared to their home/neutral results. I know I was upset about our result with PSU but mostly because I felt like we got complacent in the second half and did enough to survive but wanted them to have a stronger killer instinct. Definitely was harsh but want us prepared for tougher road games ahead.
No issues here, brother … I have zero desire to create “teams” within our fan base, and I think posters throwing around “I told you so” posts are being unproductive. We can find positives and negatives in most games, and we shouldn’t all be singing the same tune after every performance!

With that said, I’m now confident in our chances to beat Michigan at home. For one, they showed they have vulnerabilities today. But more importantly? We just don’t lose to those guys!

Watching that final uh..."play" Penn State made gave me PTSD flashbacks to the "fake rally" days with John Groce where we'd be down by quite a few points, storm back in the final few minutes, and have a chance to win the game, only to completely 💩 the bed on the final play.

Lendeborg guarded Dillione well on that final possession. Had Dillione further out the backcourt and Dillione couldn't get any good look.
That decision by Lendenbourg with ~9 seconds to go to to pressure Dillione deep seemed to really rattle Dillione and kept him from getting a good look. Helluva play that doesn’t really show up in a stat sheet.

And here lies the point. Those who were mad, don’t actually watch other games or have any idea about results outside of Illinois.

So they will be oblivious to this result. And we will rinse and repeat

oh brother. i was negative after the penn state game, and feel much better about it now (and i’m still a bit skeptical of michigan).
it’s ok if people weren’t thrilled by the second half illini performance last game: we want to see illinois do well.

Michigan fans: “If we play like that at Illinois, we have no chance…unless Illinois plays like they did against Nebraska. Then we win by 20. Because we now know Nebraska is a fraud after a close call against Ohio State. “

I wonder how long it's been since John Groce was referenced on here, in a topic that has nothing to do with him, multiple times in the span of a minute or so(you made this comment while I was typing up my comment that mentions him 4 comments after yours lol).

How about the coach call a play? Maybe set a pick or something. I’d be livid if that were my team

Don’t forget we maintained a double digit lead until the very end. I’m not calling anyone out but pointing out we won nearly double digit playing some of the worse uninspired ball.

Our ceiling is high.

Always up for critiques. More so outlandish statements like “anyone still think underwood is a good coach now?!” Or “nothing ever changes with this guy!” “Tomi is spoiled and lazy”. Or really just any definitive statement about the season in a year long perspective is what I push back on.

There are some on here which make it VERY difficult to believe they actually want Illinois to do well.

I often have to remind myself it’s a long season. I get too invested into the results sometimes and have to take a step back.I’ve felt that us and Purdue have always felt like the best contenders in the conference to beat Michigan because of our size. Definitely think Nebraska and MSU have good enough defenses to challenge them too. Hopefully our win streak against them will live on forever! Also that game environment will be insane with Morez back in town.
