I’d like to know how the money is received by the players in this. If Michigan wins, they get $1 million. Does that mean all 12 players on their team get an equal cut? Or does the money go to Michigan and they decide who gets it?

They have a front court of NBA caliber bigs. Not many, if any, teams will be able to deal with them in the paint. Their question will be their guards. Not sure how reliable they are.

They are most definitely a national championship threat.

Michigan is a team that we don't match up well with whatsoever.

Chad Baker Mazara is an absolute whine bag! He would fit in with a scUM real well
Right, CBM talks to the refs too much.

If you count each of their 3 OT periods against Troy, USC has had five coin-flips and, seemingly by luck, they have won every one of them. They really should have 3/2=1.5 losses by now, so, at least, one loss. But instead, USC is 7-0 (all against unranked opponents) and at the top of the early Big Ten standings.

I was obviously rooting against USC (based on general distaste for Muscleman and hoping Illinois could move up in the standing before our big upcoming win against UConn on Friday). I thought USC would surely lose after Rodney Rice got hurt. Instead, CBM played great, narrowly avoiding a 2nd technical foul, when CBM turned and struck Arizona State's Esra Ausar in the face with the ball (while CBM still held it). But CBM got only a standard offense foul for that (so no flagrant 1 or 2). That seemed generous, since I thought the ball is considered part of your body, so hitting a player with the ball while still holding it should IMO be treated like slapping someone and, since it was on Ausar's face, then it seems that should have been CBM's 2nd T in that game and his corresponding ejection from that SW Maui Invitational Championship game. Instead, USC won, Muscleman and CBM are heroes, and USC are 7-0 and at the top of the early BT standing with Nebraska.

I would love to know how these teams will divvy up the $2 million winners share for winning this "tournament". Seems like an opportunity for friction no matter how you do it.

Money goes to either the school or NIL collective and then they determine who gets what.

Keep in mind that a year ago, a B1G team looked fantastic in winning the Players Era tournament, launching themselves up the rankings, until Illinois went on the road to beat them by 30.

It’s weird seeing Rose and Webber on this panel when they both hated each other and never spoke for decades.

Gonzaga was #1 in Kenpom coming into this game wonder how much they drop?

I'm a long time Gonzaga fan. Love what Few has done his entire career. kenpom #1? idk how that happened. The only good team they beat was Alabama. Obviously kenpom has some issues early in the season. Not enough data. Hate to say it, Michigan looks good. But how good is Gonzaga? Maybe not very. Looking forward to 2/27.

Yes, not sure how Kenpom could have Gonzaga that high????? They are top 25, but haven’t played a tough schedule. Any fan of college basketball, that watches the top games each night, can easily see that the Zags should not be ranked that high! Makes me wonder what metrics they collect that would result in that ranking.

Wish Juwan was still coaching Michigan.

Recommend listening to the recent Eye on College bball podcast. Norlander spoke on exactly that - really seems it’s different by teams. Some even splits, others by rank (which seems wild to me!), etc

This NIL payout is pretty shady. Does every player get paid for every game via ratings moving forward? When does it stop? What about the teams not invited, how does a team get invited? Kids are only gonna go to schools that continuously get in these NIL tourneys.

Pay them a fair hourly pay/salary, but it has to stop somewhere, its out of control.
