"Govern the rule in a way that can be applied based on consistent, objective factors and eliminate judgment, regardless of how those factors comport with the INTENT of the rule" is an epidemic that goes beyond just sports.

It is worship of process over outcome.

It's such a smart play to see the guy is coming to foul and try and get a shot off. That's a risk if intentionally fouling and the defense shouldn't be rewarded just because. 100% should have counted.

Looking forward to see how DePaul does today. Hard not to have a soft spot for Blue Demons having grown up in South burbs when DePaul was having success. Plus friend is still a big DePaul fan.

Valpo isn’t great, but a bit of a step up from the teams DePaul has been playing. A win would be nice to get heading into some more difficult games coming up. I think game after is Texas Tech.

One of my favorite quotes from a Chicago sports talk personality after they opened the new arena downtown is that DePaul brought college basketball back to the city of Chicago. They just didn't bring basketball back to DePaul.

Watching the Florida-Wichita State game from Disney. Something just feels really, really icky about seeing Todd Golden on the Florida sidelines given the allegations of the last week or two.

As an Arizona alum and 7 decades of being a passionate Illini fan, I am watching Arizona play WV...and find myself pulling for the H and H boys. Sure wish we had Harris this season. But when I pause and think about it, he likely would play the same role as the past. He is in a better place for him to be a starter and contributor on both ends....but this team will miss his energy and defensive dominance. Wish him the best. Few kids today work any harder and more unselfishly than Sincere Harris.

Sencire seems to have matured. He just got an outlet pass that he could have tried to dunk, but he didn't have the best angle/steps down and just layed it in. I remember him just flying at the rim at every opportunity in his freshman season.

LOL at these ESPN announcers.

They seem to believe that a shot-clock violation occurs when the ball hasn't arrived at the rim by the time the clock expires.

Sure, it's a fine idea to just have whoever announcing games.

A lot of Arizona fans were happy to see Boswell go, yet here they are, about to start 3-4, while Boswell’s leading us to top 20 wins.
Context is everything and I've been arguing for a while that Zona fans weren't viewing his performances correctly. He was 17 when he entered school. If you look at last year's numbers as his actual freshman year, instead of sophomore, you take them every single time. 27 minutes a game, 38% from 3, 2.1 a/t, and 9.6 pts from your 6th man freshman is basically a slightly better Andre Curbelo, who won 6th man of the year in the B1G. Plus, he was one of their best defenders. I just can't imagine being so flippant about an 18-year-old bringing that to the table. I kind of get it if he's a 20-year-old sophomore wing, but again, he was an 18-year-old guard. But hey, Zona's loss is our gain.

The one caveat is that it seems pretty clear being back home is helping him focus. However, I can't fault a 17 or 18-year-old for not totally being able to focus on basketball at Arizona.
