DePaul took care of Valpo quite easily. Next up Texas Tech on the road. Finally get to really see how good (or bad) they might be.

Piper and Latulip were talking about how a light seems to have come on for Boswell since the Oakland game.

I was listening to the same thing. He had 0 games of 4 or more free throws the entire year at Arizona last year, the last 4 games hes had 7 4 6 and 5 attempts. He is still 19 years old (crazy). If a light went on with him the ceiling of this team is almost limitless.

That was insightful stuff, which is proof of why LaTulip is great.

Let the big strong guard get to the rim as part of your attack. A TSJ "replacement" in that regard.

Not to mention roster construction. Bringing in a ball hog like Caleb Love who shoots everything wouldn’t help Kylan’s development.

One of my sons just moved to Portland and I figured January would be a good time to visit him. I got tickets for the game through the Portland Illini club and am looking forward to visiting your beautiful state.
So are you staying in PDX and driving down for the game or are you planning an over night in Eugene?

As usual I will wait until the the conference play, cause that’s when they normally sh*t themselves.

he could have been our starting 4 over Humrichous. Humrichous is doing fine, but Hansberry was already on our roster.

USC is really really really bad.
USC is really bad...
USC, Minnesota and Washington are the early season favorites for "teams that won't make the B1G tournament this year". Remember, the conference tournament will have just 15 of the 18 conference teams play in it this year.
Wish we had at least one of those 3 twice. Who knows... at the end this just might come down to schedule and who got the most "bye games" (like scUM last year). Those 3 are very classifiable in that category at the moment.

I thought that USC was one of the teams that really raked in a bunch of talent this offseason. Either my memory sucks or they've had injuries and/or non-qualifiers. Just poor coaching? Maybe some players not living up to hype? I recall Saint Thomas being a guy many of us fawned over early in the offseason, and he's not played as well as I thought he would after the step up.

Minnesota is hoping to get Tyler Cochran, 6-3, thick guard transfer from Toledo (flipped him from Oregon State), some time in Dec. Had what was called “minor foot surgery” in early Oct. If he comes back healthy, he could help them in conference. He averaged 14.4 ppg, 6.4 rpg and 2.1 apg last year. Is he enough to make at least some difference? I don’t know.

In this college “free agency “ a lot of this players under achieve and only a select few live up to expectations or overachieve. It’s really a roll of the dice unless you do your due diligence.

doubt we're ranked ahead of all these non-con tourney winners. being in the 26/27 range seems more likely.
I would be STUNNED if we weren't in the top 25. The top 20 actually. We destroyed a top 20 team in front of a national audience. Every major metric(KenPom, Torvik, etc,) has us in the top 15. Even if you didn't watch one game this week, that pops out.

I say we're ranked 20 on the nose.

I say in the 15-20 range, if not more. I mean... a whole lot of teams lost. And that was domination by us.

Top 20 for sure IMO

Are you "local"? If you don't know your way around Eugene, I'll be glad to share some tips.
We live a couple hours away. We have been there once for a weekend. This trip will be staying for a couple days. So any tips would be appreciated.

Staying with my son in Portland and driving back after the game. It will be a late night but unfortunately, he has to work on the 3rd.
