The "letting me evolve my game" part is a pretty clear jab, IMO.

Where in the interview does he mention Illinois or Brad? He doesn't.

You're manufacturing this. Maybe Morez is thinking something, maybe he's not. Nobody will ever know.

If you think its a jab I'm not going to argue with an opinion, but I also do not think (by definition of the word) its "clear" by any stretch.

In his conversation with Kedric Prince upon deciding to transfer;

Morez expressed frustration with his role under coach Brad Underwood: “Mr. Prince, I am not just a guy who can rebound, set picks, and dunk. I am more than that, but the person running the offense didn’t believe in me. No matter how many times I showed it in practice, it wasn’t enough. I can’t allow my career to end up like Kofi (Cockburn)"

First post game interview with new team you go straight into "Dusty May is letting me evolve my game". Seems like a fairly obvious A to B progression from me.

I don't think you have to mention Brad or Illinois when you have context.

Context is not proving he is taking a pot shot

Context is fooling you into thinking he is

If you can prove he is slamming Illinois with those comments, I'm all ears

Otherwise ✌️

Purdue is very good, but I don’t think there is much separation between them and the top 3-4 other teams in conference (including us). Cluff is physical but not sure how he and TKR fit together. I like Jacobson but think he’s a year away. Harris and Cox don’t impress me. Not sure there is any separation really.

Man that Christian Anderson can go though.

We’re fortunate dusty may couldn’t keep that one in Ann Arbor
Wonder how serious Toppin's injury is. I don't wish for injuries but if there was a player you'd like to face who is still getting up to speed or on a minute's restriction. It might be him

Smith, Loyer, TKR are all guys who are great college players but don't have the ceiling to be drafted high enough to leave college. It's worked out great for Purdue's retention of them, but I also have to wonder if these guys may have already reached that ceiling (meaning they aren't going to be a whole lot better this year than they were last year). I could be wrong; hope I'm not though lol.

This is more than likely the wrong thread to post this, but I am very frustrated by the reseating process at State Farm Center. Being a donor for 20 years and season ticket holder in both basketball and football should have more preference in seating. I personally know of someone who has less than half of the priority points that I possess, and was allowed to choose their seats for basketball 2 days prior to my selection date. Better seats for them, no more annual donation than I always contribute. Something does not seem right here. Hope to hear other scenarios from other long term ticket holders.

Duke off to a slow start. I’d imagine Boozer will heat up.

Sean Miller has TX playing hard. They will give teams fits this season.

Duke has also gotten away with 2 tackles where they dove through someones legs for a nominally loose ball with no whistle.

But yeah, they're going to be a problem this year.

You're setting an impossible bar. Nobody can ever "prove" what is in someone's mind when they say something.

The best anyone can ever do is guess based on context. And context is valuable. Context is the world we inhabit. You seem to think it is foolish to consider context, when it's actually foolish to interpret things without context. That's why people say "taking it out of context" as a negative, not a positive.

And the (essential) context here is this guy took pot shots at the coaches and program when he left, and then his dad spent all summer talking trash about the program. He knows what he said in the past and I think he's smart enough that he has to have known how these comments would be interpreted. Knowing that, he said it anyway. That's important context.

Meh

I think you guys are reading way too much into it.

Didn't say it was foolish to consider context, that's a strawman kind of thing. What I said was that I think this context is fooling people into thinking he's talking about Illinois/Brad. We must admit that is equally possible.

Literally nobody thinks he's talking about Illinois except a few Illinois fans.

Lot of Michigan fans seem to also. So basically anyone who knows the context...

Right

Pretty sure everyone knows where he transferred from

You guys are making an assumption - regardless of whatever the context is (and that's not really arguable)

EDIT: The context of the interview actually does not include anything about Illinois... if the reporter asked him about leaving Illinois to go to Michigan, then there is context. Here? There is none. Kid is praising his coaching staff. Same recycled crap that you hear in every post game interview.

Crazy to think Dame Sarr would have been our 2nd highest paid player, likely got 25-30 MPG, and he's a bench piece for Duke.

I know it's great to get the bigger 💰 but I'd lean towards going somewhere that I can be a feature. Especially, if you have aspirations to make a quick jump to the league.

Appreciate the clarity. Came into the game a little late after putting the baby boy to sleep. From what I saw, he seemed like an afterthought among a deep and talented team

Michigan fans reactions when they see morez leave the paint for the 3 point line

kevin smith mallrats GIF
Me: That’s a turnover
Michigan fan: you dumb ________… that’s a three point shot.
Me: A Morez three point shot is a turnover stupidhead.
