Crazy to think Dame Sarr would have been our 2nd highest paid player, likely got 25-30 MPG, and he's a bench piece for Duke.

I know it's great to get the bigger đź’° but I'd lean towards going somewhere that I can be a feature. Especially, if you have aspirations to make a quick jump to the league.
Sarr, Cayden Boozer & Khamenia all turned down (presumably) larger roles in Champaign to be 6-8th men at Duke.

Still feels like with Scheyer they're driving a Ferrari on the freeway with the parking brake on.

I was wrong about Sarr as Rap47 pointed out. He started, though he didn't catch my eye as making an impact except for getting beat on D with a great drop step by Codie.

In Sarr's defense. The talent is insane on this team.

I really don't have any feelings about Scheyer. Feels like a Ryan Day situation where he has the best roster year in and year out.

Right

Pretty sure everyone knows where he transferred from

You guys are making an assumption - regardless of whatever the context is (and that's not really arguable)

EDIT: The context of the interview actually does not include anything about Illinois... if the reporter asked him about leaving Illinois to go to Michigan, then there is context. Here? There is none. Kid is praising his coaching staff. Same recycled crap that you hear in every post game interview.
You seem to think context means "the literal words spoken divorced entirely from any conception of preceding events or current circumstances"... and honestly I'm at a loss with how to respond to that.

He's Day on steroids. Generational #1 pick. The other 4 starters are drafted with 4 additional top 35 players on the bench.

Scored one field goal in the final 10:30 in the FF. Just wild how little heat he gets over it.

lol

You don’t need to just act like I’m dumb and don’t know the definition of the word context.

It’s ok, but let’s clarify anyhow, within the context of the interview, Illinois is not part of that context.

Illinois fans and Michigan fans have the additional context of Morez bolting because he wanted to play more on the perimeter.

I get it, we want Morez to be this big, bad villian.

He was given a very specific prompt “you missed two threes, but you had a couple dribble drives, tell us about that” (paraphrasing) and he gave what I thought was a very cookie cutter response.

If it was a jab at Illinois, it was not “clear”. I would label it “cryptic”. If I had to give an example of a “clear jab”, it might be Ed Cooley at Gtown.

Not sure about Khamenia, but IIRC Boozer never seriously considered coming to Champaign.

"Morez Johnson is saying things in good faith" is such a weird hill for you to repeatedly try to die on.

It’s really hard for those of us with YouTube TV. I literally can’t watch.

Because it's really weird that you care this deeply about defending the honor of a dude thats rightfully earned skepticism and distrust.

Who hurt you?

How am I “defending his honor”?

I think he’s a turncoat

However, I still think everyone’s reading into what are just regular responses to regular questions

I think it’s a big nothing burger, you guys are mad, not me 🤷‍♂️

He doesn't merely have the best roster - it's miles ahead of any other team in college ball. Add in the typical favorable officiating and it's a wonder they ever lose a game.

For a bit in the first half...I watched that team and couldn't help but think, "How could anyone beat this team?"

Then I shut it off and they were down 1 at halftime. Goes to show you can only play 5 guys at once, I guess. Still have them as a FF team

Looks like DGL is UNLV’s new volume scorer — 18 points on 5 of 16 (2-9 from 3). No one else on team took more than 9 shots. So far not a recipe for success as UNLV lost to UT-Martin by 5. Rebels were one of only two home teams to lose (or at least in D1 games listed on ESPN).
