Yes, you are allowed to read into the comments however you'd like, of course

All I ever pointed out was that's precisely what we're doing

Sometimes my wife says "its fine" and its not, sometimes she says "its fine" and it is, I can't claim to ever know what she is thinking though, so I tread very carefully just in case 😁
Oh no, dude… whenever your wife says “it’s fine,” it’s NEVER fine! 😳😬

Even a psychologist cannot read Morez's mind

Can't relate to this 🤷‍♂️ I have always had the ability to move on pretty easily

We're all unique and have different ways we approach things or perceive things in life, and that's cool
I think this may be at the crux of why you’re taking the stance that you are. Because YOU have this ability to easily move on you can’t relate as well to those who don’t (be Illini fans or Morez himself).

You’re on the good side of the Dunning-Kruger effect. Because you have the capability to set such things aside, you assume that’s normal and that most everybody must feel the same. But you’re greatly underestimating your own abilities and overestimating others, simply because to you your perception of reality must be the mean.

Any chance we can agree to have a noon CST end for any posts related to this specific argument? Obviously, we can and will talk about Morez in the future - just not this specific argument? Just an idea as a frequent reader who does not hold a board position or have any voting rights.

This board can’t even agree that the win over Jackson State was an impressive performance. What you’re asking is a bridge too far. 😉

really me neither. I usually watch college game day (football) but that is about it. However, I would/will watch some CBB on ESPN

Monday night no Cowboys which was probably a good skip.
I missed the Peyton and Eli Manningcast. I enjoy watching a game that way when it’s teams involved that I don’t care about. It doesn’t matter if I miss a few plays because Peyton is talking in depth about some random play call or the bring in a fun guest and just are chopping it up.

The 'who hurt you' comment was nothing personal, just funny. We're allowed to do that here.

We all get that there's nuance to why he left (Underwood playing Hummer over him, Tim leaving, doubling his NIL, etc.), but he left while throwing a bunch of stones after committing to the team, so folks do not trust his words or intentions. If you want to assign yourself to be his honor guard, then you're going to get some of the boards disdain by proximity.

I do think the idea of Dan setting up a boxing-judge-style panel to determine who wins debates on here would be objectively funny (and save the rest of us from having to scroll through pages of 2 people verbally pillow fighting).
verbally pillow fighting.....now that's funny......I usually like verbal jousting battles but seems to me this is getting to be redundantly tiresome and has a petty path that could go on ad nausem.............

Morez made remarks after he reneged on his NIL contract....his father added fuel to the fire......Morez continued with his tone of remarks and most of Illini Nation , already upset with his decisions and his taking shots at BU and staff, are in a frame of mind that he is dissing us with every remark he says.......add in the fact that he transfers to scUM labels him in my opinion as a traitor
only interested in stirring the pot......

I now am under the opinion that Morez is a very troubled person seeking revenge any way possible against BU and the Illini program..........it would NOT surprise me to see Morez exhibit a pattern of borderline dirty play to satisfy his troubled personality
to get even with our lack of doing what's best for HIM........

Seems to me to be a classic case of entitlement combined with a healthy dose of immaturity........the game against scUM could get ugly especially if Orange Krush has plans being made to extoll revenge against him for transferring.......

I hope cooler heads prevail that night , but to argue Morez is an angelic person only praising Dusty May in all his comments is weak sauce and carries little weight in my opinion......

I'm only responding to what I have read on this 2 pronged manifesto and not trying to step on anyone's toes , so too speak......

Is this point-counterpoint discussion even worthy of debate ???????..................Morez is not with us anymore so he is against us.....

I wish he would just STFU.........................JMHO............

Just came here expecting a lot of talk about the rough loss for DGL. The fact there is this much discussion regarding whether a post game comment (whether innocent or not) is a jab against Illinois shows it is clearly interpreted as one to fans that are aware of the history regardless of his intentions. Just more fuel to the fire which only elevates the future matchups further.

Just adding a little context to his low rebounding total.

Absolutely, kid had a great game

Didn’t get a chance to watch, so maybe someone else can chime in for me here, but was the low rebound total due to him playing more on the perimeter? I think his strengths are toughness and rebounding (and defense will improve too). If they’re pulling him out on the perimeter so much that he is getting a lot less rebounding opportunities, I think that’s not great for Michigan as a team (jmo).

Morez did it on accident, but it was a shot because of how it was perceived by Michigan & Illinois fans

If I have to hear "on accident" one more time, I'm going to scream. I always assume anyone who is enough of an Illini fan to post on these boards either went to Illinois, or was smart enough to do so. It's "by accident," and "on accident" is a bastardization of all that is English.

@illini55

Wow, more insults... cool... bet you're fun at parties.

"On accident" is more common/acceptable among younger speakers of American English (under about 40?) than it is among older speakers. It's also more common in certain regional dialects.

It's considered non-standard, but note that "non-standard" doesn't mean "incorrect" - it's correct in the dialects/speech communities that use it (just not considered correct in Standard American English, which is but one dialect of AmE).

There's also some evidence (when you look at usage examples) that suggests that "on accident" is especially common when "on purpose" also occurs in the sentence:

HAAS: That happens in so many cases where you're got misinformation that's either leaked on accident or on purpose.— from "Gunman Kills 32, Wounds 28 at Virginia Tech" on On the Record w/ Greta Van Susteren on Fox News, 2007
JACOBUS: Big difference when it's on purpose and when it's on accident.— from "Dean, Democrats and Iowa's Deadline", on CNN, 2003

Okay then I lose I guess 🤷‍♂️
How do you know he did by accident? Your response when others said they knew he did it on purpose "Even a psychologist cannot read Morez's mind"

yes you lose, are wrong or are related to Morez.

I didn't propose he did anything by accident, the fella I was responding to assumed that

EDIT: updated to make @illini55 happy

I didn’t see the game either. Playing a bit more on perimeter probably had some impact. If they were playing man, who he was defending (did his man play on perimeter?) probably had impact. He only played 20 minutes and I’d guess a good chunk of those were with Mara. He had 12 rebounds, and only so many to go around. May is too good of a coach to not take advantage of Morez’s strengths once competition picks up. Hard to imagine that rebounding total not going up in more competitive games.
