EIU lost it's season opener to Valparasio 66-63.

EIU trailed by 13 in the second half, came back to take the lead 63-61, but could not hold on.

The Panthers had 20 turnovers.

Preston Turner lead the scoring with 16 points, Terry McMorris had 11 and 11 rebounds.

Home opener is Friday night vs. Nicholls State 7pm. Tickets are $7
Good for Rev. Although Valpo was ranked higher by KenPom

Not to mention some dude named Jalen Brunson that John Groce decided not to prioritize.

Isn't it weird how changing/removing 4 letters makes it more disturbing? Even though we owned him, I always despised him as the Mizzou coach :cautious:

It's pretty remarkable that he seems to not really be hated much. But between Cliff, IDKWTI, and Snider, Snider probably had the biggest negative impact.
Oh for sure, but I feel like him being from Louisville and being previously committed to them made for less anger.

Cliff/Gordon were much more personal because of the disrespect. I think you'll see the same he who shall not shoot 3s. A bunch of folks will hold onto it for...awhile.

I'm not here to discuss Morez's comments, but something interesting I found was that Yaxel's injury is supposedly why he didn't start but he ended up playing a good amount of minutes. Morez had a great game so the question is- who hits the bench when Yaxel is healthy?
Looks like mostly a 3 man rotation… plenty of minutes… add in Tschetter who might play some minutes at the 4 spot. Guessing here!

idk how I missed this whole thread yesterday :ROFLMAO:

Context: I leave a job on bad terms. I committed to my role and to my salary, but last minute another company offers me more money and a larger role:
If I was asked how I like my new job and I responded:
"The management is great here! They really believe in me, and allow me to grow my career"
that is like pretty obvious there is a comparison to your old job there.

It's like saying the grass is greener on the other side. You have to have a side to compare to.

EDIT: Sorry to bring this back up. NJ I do think you have well thought out responses

•History: Originally named the "Industrial Institute and College for the Education of White Girls," it later became the "Mississippi State College for Women" before eventually adopting its current name (Wynbridge State University).

“Today, it's an opportunity for all. For more than 30 years we've welcomed men. One in five of our students on The W campus is male.”

I like those odds!!! 😂

Thanks, and it’s no problem.. my brain just doesn’t work like that I guess.. I tend to want more than just context when blaming someone for something I’m not sure they actually did. Some people wanted to get all lawyer-y on me with “circumstantial evidence” and if we want to go that route I’m 100% certain any slander case brought against Morez for his comments would be thrown out pretty quickly.

I can't wait to see the first compliment AS throws to Underwood. Will that be a slam at Cal coaches?

Players are going to say nice things about their coaches.

Spoiler alert on the next recruit visit. "I love the way they play. I'm a great fit for their system. "

And the recruit will say the same thing on his next visit to our opponent.

I know people get angry if a discussion lasts more than a page or two, but I'll add more thing and this will be the last I say on the subject.

The context folks are injecting into this 15 second interaction with the reporter are comments that were made nearly 8 months ago. Morez did an interview with Defend the Block podcast (Michigan podcast) on September 9th.

When asked, "Why Michigan?":

"I think Dusty can help me grow my game. Develop to be a better basketball player. Just continue to do the stuff I did at Illinois."

When asked what he was looking for in the portal:

"By going into the portal, the thing I was looking for the most was being around a great group of guys. A team that's going to be ready to win."

He also talks about playing with Tomi and how helpful that was, and talks about playing the 5 mostly at first and then we started putting him at the 4 and having him play more outside. He does then go on to say at Michigan he thinks he is going to play even more on the perimeter.

Talked a bit about some of the drills Illinois runs in practice and stated how helpful those were in his development and how good Illinois' staff is at doing these drills and how he got a ton out of those things during his time here.

I mean he had lots of opportunity in a safe space (Michigan podcast) to say something negative about Illinois, and he doesn't do that. He actually instead says many very positive things about Illinois.

Do you miss a lot of sarcasm? Just curious if there is a correlation.

If you know that but continue to go down this road why do you do it ?? Just like the attention ?? You continue to pollute this board. How about taking a break from this subject ?
