Uhhhh no, I doubt BU would waste an opportunity to teach our current crop of players in this fashion. Saying that our coaching staff would do such a thing is akin to saying they do not give a crap about developing our team chemistry. Yes, playing a vet team has intrinsic lessons... but in no way was it that simple...

I'm assuming you also thought Bobby Knight was great for the game?

New Mexico is one of a handful of mid-major teams that could work their way into an at-large tourney bid, but if UCLA was a top 25 team they shouldn't have lost this one at home.
It's not a lot of consolation, but it looks like it was played in Las Vegas instead of Westwood.

At one point in time Bobby Knight was very good if not great for the game, times change
I suppose, at one point, Hitler was great for Germany, too. Or at least the people thought so.

Bob Knight was a bully and a narcissist who treated those he deemed inferior to him horribly. Great basketball coach or not, his redeeming qualities were minimal.

This comparison was about as silly as it gets. Reminds of the comparison to our soon to be president to that guy. Knight was great for the game. Great coach and personality period. One of the greatest in college basketball and all of sports. He transcended the sport.

I don't think we need to drag politics into it (though Knight was a cultural icon in a certain way and there's no point in denying it) but at the end of the day he was a genuinely mentally unstable person who was frequently not really in control of himself. That's not to forgive his behavior, it's just to say that the true basketball genius and the psychopath were two separate aspects of the man, despite people's desire to act like the two were connected together.

Knight's mania failed a lot of the people around him, including himself, in the end.

I don't think that the Mountain West is a mid major conference. That's a multiple bid league, every year.

A mid major conference would be the Missouri Valley, MAC, etc.

ZZ with 10 turnovers for Tennessee (18 total as a team) and they're still up 20+ at an improved Louisville team.

Their defense is going to be a real good challenge next month.

Chucky Hepburn playing for Louisville. Tn is good. But they are playing Louisville. Louisville has a new team. They won’t be good this year.

The rare Godwin’s law sighting on Loyalty.

Understand your reasoning but I can’t get behind that analogy. And this is from someone who detests IU.

So he wasn't a great coach and a great personality?

You don't know what you are talking about. Get out of your little hurt feelings and learn something about the history of college basketball.

Oregon State Beavers are 2-0 after beating Weber St 76-48. They even have their own Lithuanian, Liutauras Lelevicius, who was cleared same day as Tomi. Not exactly KJ, but in 24 minutes off bench he had 6 pts, 5 rebs, 5 assists, 2 steals and no TOs. Not too shabby
