The main thing is when we play poorly we get throttled with criticism on here

When other top 15 teams play poorly (which last night was most of them), endless excuses are made for them… going so far as to refer to a 61 point offensive output as a “masterclass”

A little tiresome to my eyes is all
I am not focused on the term masterclass yet rather the winning consistency in these ranked matchups.

The fact is, we are pretty good in these games but no where near great nor elite. There is a masterclass shown by others, like UConn and Kansas.

Yet it didn’t happen in the game we’re discussing

Only going back to last season, we beat #19 at a neutral site by 13, beat #9 on the road by 32 and beat #15 on the road by 20… I think those qualify?

EDIT: If we're talking about this season only, I see no evidence UConn nor Kansas has been great or elite in their ranked matchups either....

I understand.

But here is the point: we do not seem to make in game, planned adjustments as a team like I saw in UConn games.

Also, we just aren’t physical like the Kansas and UConn teams. All the pushing and shoving definitely impacts the shooting prowess of the opposing team.

Getting the W in these tough battles isn’t merely left to the star player. Every position is gutting it out.

Team adjustments is what I see as a difference from what we do. We play NBA style isolation and exploit matchups.

Kansas is 1-3 in ranked matchups thus far - so maybe they need to be more physical or make more adjustments.

Your point that’s a win/loss business is true. I’m just not gonna get overly worked up about a 61 point showing as evidence of brilliant offensive adjustments. Sometimes a team just wins and another loses - or in KU’s case last night, bricks.

And if only Kansas had a coach who wasn’t in over his head, they might win those games.

Minnesota up 10, then misses three bunnies in the last couple of minutes to let IU back in.

Arkansas gets a big win over 6th ranked Louisville. Meanwhile, Alabama survived against Clemson.

Minnesota played 4 of 5 starters 37 minutes+!! Who do they think they are, our ladies team the past few years?

Iowa State went 22-30 on 3s tonight enroute to a 132-68 win against Alcorn State, and also had 33 assists and 17 steals. I'd like to see a game where the Illini come out and play lights out against someone - it might be pretty spectacular.
