Tough one. On the one hand Syracuse is a program that should act like it's been there before, which is really my only ever objection to court storming.

On the other hand they probably feel like they've been left for dead with the Boeheim era ending with a whimper and being in such a vulnerable position in the conference carousel.

I resolve the tie in favor of exuberant kids.

Jeremiah Williams would have looked good in an Illini uniform. Just sayin…
I remember it wasn’t long ago on this board when some people found the idea of him committing here unacceptable because of his previous injury.
I think it was his off court issues more than any injury.......JMHO....

Yes… I would prefer not have any player on the team who’s had a gambling issue. Maybe I’m naive and every player everywhere is secretly on Draft Kings or BetMGM, but a known sports bettor on the team could lead to major program destroying issues down the road.

In fairness to this board, with Jeremiah coming off a severe injury, his performance thus far has been like if Austin Hutcherson went for the 30ppg our kool-aid chugging faithful projected him to, but only after being suspended half the season for running an illegal keno ring out of his dorm room. I think this one is an understandable miss.

Plus teams haven't collected a full scouting report on him yet, they will

Domask has been tremendous but I don't think there's any question we'd be better off with Dennis.
Without a doubt, especially considering the need for a ball-handling PG (I expect the major difference in assists between the two due to position). However, Domask is outperforming any realistic expectation going into the season. But I agree; this team would be better with Dennis.

The one key difference between the two this season: the Free throw %. Amazing that Dennis is only connecting on 2/3 free throws for such a good shooter.

The next game between 2 B1G tournament caliber teams (Ill, MSU, PU, WI, Neb, NW) isn't until March 2nd.

We have been spoiled the past few years having a big game almost nightly.

Dennis. plays for Baylor, he was never an Illini. Root for what we have. The Illini seem to have good relationships with each other.

RayJ Dennis on Baylor 18-6

Marcus Domask on Illinois 18-6

Pretty comparable except for assists

Marcus is at 19ppg and 50% FG in B1G play. Just over 20ppg without TJ and just under 18ppg with TJ, so it wasn't just because of the suspension. If both guys end the season around 20ppg in conf play, you could make a case for both of them being 1st team All-Conf.

Edit: As far as RayJ is concerned, we need to improve our defense not our offense. The offense is elite now, add RayJ and what? The defense gets even worse than it already is.

Maryland’s Mady just left the Iowa game with a knee injury. He couldn’t put any weight on that leg…
