Houston likes to trap a lot, which does leave them vulnerable to fouling, and they tend to give up a lot of FTs without actually generating many of their own most nights.

Arizona is one of the few teams in the country better at rebounding than Illinois, but they never shoot 3s (362nd at 3 point rate).

Expanding on this, there are basically 3 teams in the country that are better at rebounding than Illinois: Arizona, Florida, and Michigan State. Of those, MSU is bad offensively, Florida doesn't shoot 3s well and turns the ball over a lot, and Arizona effectively lives inside the 3 point line.

Noticed the other day that Tennessee seems to be the best rebounding team in the country. Brought back memories of them owning us on the glass back in December.

EDIT: Just saw your follow up. What about Tennessee? Maybe I was looking at just total rebound rate?

Tennessee is #1 in offensive rebound rate, #45 in defensive rebound rate. Illinois is #4 in offensive rebound rate, #28 in defensive rebound rate.

I was hoping Arizona would pull away when Houston started fouling at the end of the game, but it hasn't worked out that way

Edit: well, at least they'll get two more than I expected when there was 9s left. A 7pt home loss without Peat should help pull Houston down a bit, though I'm not banking on much

The announcers were funny “I agree with not using the challenge there, you might need it later”.

Dude, there are 15 seconds to go in the game. If you don’t use it now, you likely never will.
Canned phrases on their cheat sheets will be used, regardless of appropriateness or game clock.

Announcer version of Nuke Laloosh ‘just here to help the ball club’.

Tennessee has the #1 offensive rebounding percentage in the country (45.0%). Florida is 2nd at 42.6% and we're 4th at 39.1%.

Could that have been what you saw?

Call me a cranky old geezer, but home teams should only be able to “choose their jersey” if it does not result in the away team wearing white. It’s unnatural, damn it.

You should only get to wear non-white at home if the away team has an option that won’t clash with your jersey choice. And the away team shouldn’t choose white to make that happen.

Has defense been outlawed in the Big East?

As someone who will forever laugh at Wisconsin wearing red while we were absolutely going to wear orange in 2004, resulting in one of the most unwatchable games in tv history, naw. If/when we want to wear orange at home, we should absolutely be allowed to wear orange at home. Home team picks. Away team has to deal.

Honestly couldn’t care less who wins in the scUM game. Really want Nova to beat UCONN though.
Looking for ‘Nova to pull of this upset to improve our bracket potential. But one must always pull for ScUM to fall to the ninth circle of Dante’s Circles of Hell.
