Did anyone else want to criticize the Whosiers new home uniforms? :) :)
College Basketball Fans Roast Indiana for Nightmarish Black and Red Jerseys

They look like uniforms made for a pick up all star weekend In rec league. “Pull your size out of the bag”

Pistol Pete was NOT just a generational athlete , he is a HISTORIAL athlete..............

Watched him on the Jefferson-Pilot game of the week back then and was just amazed at what he could do with a BB in his hands.....
Purest shooter I have ever seen and his moves left me always saying " How did he do that " ??.................His teammates always had to be aware of Pete with the ball in his hands as he would make razor sharp passes leading to a bucket......

His shooting range really was really anywhere inside the half court line.......If he was playing now , with the rules in place , he would probably average at least 50 PPG and be the NCAA POTY for as many years as he played......

There is a documentary on Pistol Pete that goes into his off court issues with his dad and the acclaim from the media and fans everywhere , even after he got out of the NBA.........

He is in MY top 5 all time favorite players ever.....He really really is.......................JMHO..............
He was WAY ahead of his time with what he could do on the court. Learned a lot from his instructional tapes when I was a kid in the 2000’s which shows how much he’s impacted the game all these years later. Loved watching the “Pistol” movie as well, I used to sleep with a basketball like he did in the movie haha. He’s also the reason I learned to spin a ball on my finger. Definitely owe a lot to him on how he impacted my love for basketball.

If I had a choice, assuming the two matchups are with middling teams and are of no consequence to the beloved Illini, to drive 30 minutes east to watch Purdue men’s team play a game or drive 30 minutes west to watch Iowa women’s team, I would choose to go west
As a middle school girls coach here in Sullivan IL, it’s nice for them to have someone like her to look up to and keep them interested in basketball!

Down 3 with 1:30 to go, Colgate pulls it out vs 305 Lafayette 67 62
Colgate is not doing too badly. First in the Patriot League. Pretty far ahead of the 2nd place team which happens to be Lafayette. Colgate 14-1 (20-8 overall), Lafayette 10-5.

A couple huge games for BTT seeding purposes tonight in Iowa at MSU and Maryland at Wisky. MSU is a heavy favorite (80% odds according to Pom) and Iowa has struggled hard on the road, but they did just knock off Wisky... A loss would drop MSU a game behind a top 4 BTT seed, which based on tiebreaker is really almost like a game and a half. And a win for Iowa keeps them securely in the Top 8.

Meanwhile, Wisconsin, in a deep downward spiral is taking on a plucky Maryland team playing better of late. Wisconsin still has a 74% chance to win according to Pom, but they haven't been playing like it recently and Maryland should be up for this one. A loss would drop Wisconsin out of the Top 4, while a win for Maryland could jump them up from an 11 seed to the 8 seed with an Iowa loss.

So really big swing games if either dog wins this one. Should be a fun night of hoops

How Maryland finishes the season has a huge impact on our ncaa seeding (as big of an impact as any individual team can).

They’re currently 74 in NET. Stay in the top 75 and it’s a Q1 win and a Q2 loss. Drop below 75 and it’s a Q2 win and a Q3 loss.

They actually clinched the league title last night; the first regular season title to be clinched this season.

Our non-conference scheduled ended up being really solid…

Colgate 20-8, won the Patriot League

Oakland 18-10, first in the Horizon

Southern 16-10, tied for first in SWAC

Western Illinois 17-10, game back of the OVC

Obviously Tennessee & Marquette are both having great years

FAU underperforming but still a quality win.

And this is why the current system is severely flawed. The real world is analog, not digital. The 74 team is not significantly different that the 76 team, so treating them as such is a problem. Plus every team has a huge standard deviation on their level of play on a given night - when a team is playing well in a stretch, they are a tough out. When they are not, they may be an easy out.

To borrow from Winston Churchill, analytical rankings are the worst form of seeding, except for all the others.
