I hear the Illini are good, actually.
Turns out having Peterson in the lineup isn't an automatic win button.
The problem for NW is that they’re the worst 3pt shooting team in the league:
UCLA and Kansas getting steamrolled.
Michigan...... extremely impressive. No real weakness. The only thing that can detail them is foul trouble or injury.
Shooting big men that take Mara off the floor and put Morez in space.
Also, the 1/3 games Cadeau loses his mind and has 9 turnovers.
I think Morez is going to the league when the season ends. He’s shooting 67/36/80. Another 6-6 FG performance today. I think he’s shown enough to be a mid 1st rounder. I think the defense was always there but he’s shown enough shooting skill that he should be a lock to go. I think given his age he’s a much better prospect than Yaxel
On the offensive side, that can work with the assumption that you're making them at a high clip.
On the defensive side, they have an NBA interior. You have to match their physicality and if not....you see what happens. They've shot 80% in the second half today and they scored 17 of their last 19 possessions vs NW. I don't care if it is NW, that's insane. The fact is, there's not a team in the country that can match their physicality for two halves.
The third issue in on both ends. You had better find a body to box out and you had better send your guards to the boards because they will absolutely dominate the glass.
When a team can dominate in a variety of ways, on both ends and they have weapons, on both ends.... it's hard.
You pegged it though. The one way to get them is to have bigs that can shoot. They had better be able to take care of the glass as well and I'm not talking about snagging long rebounds. Have to get the greasy stuff.
They were coming off of a 2 win season when he took over. Literally.

i saw that the spread was KU +7.5 despite KUs beat down of Iowa St earlier in the year and having Peterson.. thought that was odd but vegas always knows…
I wonder if NW would've been better had Martenelli left. He averages 22 points per game. Maybe you could free up some cap and get three 6ppg transfers instead.

Former recruit Certa from BCC had 37 today for ND. Had 34 last week against Virginia. I doubt he stays at ND
NU is the worst job in the big ten. Pleasantly surprised Collins chose to stick around.
The one I keep hearing is Bam Adebayo
Undersized athletic 5 who can shoot it a bit and has some peripheral versatility skills
I am going by the schedule they have. UCLA and Iowa away are the two hardest games… but they should be favored. Anything can happen in the BIG tho!
Ya… I’ve heard Gus say that a few times.
I get it from the undersized center standpoint. But that guy shoots 5 threes a game and is arguably one of the best centers in space defensively in nba history.
I chuckle at the propensity to always compare guys to NBA All Stars as well. I guess for listeners’ sake, if he said Amir Johnson they might not know who he was even talking about lol.
