Valpo player just got ridden to the ground, injured his knee and had to be helped off the floor. Foul on Valpo. Rev was rightfully PO’d.

I was at the game. Strategy worked. Eastland won the game. Pecatonica was #1 all year and Eastland played the game the one way they could beat them.
Very intense game. Was a rematch of last years Sectional finals. For clarity Pec led after 1st quarter 1-0. The rest of the game was basically played as a regular game. One could say Pec could have been up by more if they didn't stall but who knows. Pec also could've came out and challenged them as well instead of sitting back.

Safe to say the Pec fans and coaches were not thrilled with it. Shot clock is needed in high school but it has not been implemented yet. So Eastland used it to its advantage.

My high school team did this at one point when I was an under classmate. I hate it.

Shot clocks are coming next year in Illinois, or maybe it's the year after.

The National high school federation allows states to implement a shot clock. Iowa has one at 35 seconds for three years now. Illinois has chosen to not use it.

I'm okay with a strategy like this. If teams are going to sit back and play zone on you, why try and play offense if someone isn't going to come out and try to defend.

I think Illinois does have it, but only in certain events like holiday tournaments. Unless I'm mistaken, I think it is going to be in full use in the next couple years.
