I can't believe that I'm saying this...but can scUM win this game? I really don't like our chances against the Turdles...
We will be fine against MD.
Our team is night and day different between when we played them last and now.
I am not tracking B10 teams all that closely, but maybe MSU is the biggest concern, then PU.
WI peaked vs IL and a main kid is out with injury.
OSU and IN looked awful yesterday.
MI is done.
My only concern is getting worn out going to the BTT final

Don’t think they win another game this year. Broken. Wolf has turned into a pumpkin
Wolf has an unusual skill set for a 7-footer. NBA willprobably love him once he develops. But it's not working now in the BT, once teams figured out how to deal with Goldin and him as a tandem.

This is hilarious. I feel soooooo bad for Michigan, so bad.
I don't. Ever. :ROFLMAO: :devilish:

This is awesome. I'm getting to relive the second half in Crisler last Sunday all over again. Meanwhile, for UM it's Groundhog Day w/Bill Murry sans any hope of incremental personal development.

SIUE in the tourney! Hard to believe from my alma mater. I had a triple major there. Foosball, Budweiser and Ping Pong.
I really feel bad for Demarco Minor on Oregon St. He transferred from SIUE this season. His old team makes the tourney and the Beavers lose to 11-win Pepperdine in their first game of WCC tournament. Ouch!

Is it any more competitive for a squad to just sit back in zone and not have any of their defenders come out and effectively defend the players on offense?

People can hate it all they want but if the defense doesn't come out and man up and defend (you can still do this even in zone), then the offense has no incentive to run anything.
Well, you're right, the offense has no incentive to do anything. That's why the rule change is coming, so that garbage strategy won't work anymore.

I hate this. IHSA needs a shot clock. I don’t care if it worked, that isn’t basketball. That isn’t competitive. I remember when Richwoods did that against Simeon in 06. Get to see DRose in a championship all for it to end 31-29. If you get rinsed you get rinsed, at least play the game.

Also, Waukegan was host to a couple of excellent games. I believe Brandon Paul hit a game winner at the Waukegan sectional for Gurnee years back.
I am a Waukegan HS alum (many many years ago). I can’t remember where I found some old records of high school games from the 20s, 30s or so. I can’t remember exactly the years but it was a long time ago. But it was not unusual for games back then to have total point scores less than 10 points for both teams. I do remember Waukegan beat Evanston something like 5 to 3 one year. And I am sure this was not just a Waukegan thing. It probably happened all over the state. They would just sit on the ball until the end of each quarter and then try to score (I think that was the strategy. It would be nice if I could find that information again.
Also, it wasn’t Brandon Paul who hit the game winner for Warren, it was Jereme Richmond who hit an incredible half court shot to beat Warren. Unless Paul did it the previous year or something.

I don’t know. Michigan slumping hard and getting destroyed right now diminishes our win over them and doesn’t help our seeding. Don’t think they will be ranked on Monday. One fewer ranked win on our resume

Point taken but it's still easily a Quad 1 win. They've slid in KenPom but not that far. Were 24 a week ago before our game, 28 now after losses to us and MD at home. Don't imagine getting rolled by double digits in EL will force them much lower.

They have serious perimeter problems. I was impressed with Donaldson last Sunday but against MD and MSU he looks like a liability. And the rest of their options out there are ineffective. They're a Hunter Dickinson-oriented team again. It's Vlad and not a lot else consistently.

Michigan’s loss doesn’t hurt our resume at all. “Ranked wins” aren’t on the team sheet. Quad 1 wins are. Quad 1 wins on the road are teams in the top 75. Michigan is currently 27. Even Quad1A road wins are top 40. They’ll stay within that too, even if they lose out.

The game is supposed to be continuous action in theory. I get what you’re saying, but anything that promotes the continuous nature of the game is something I support.

It’s why we have play clocks in football, pitch clocks in baseball, etc.
None of the sports had play clocks until decades after their founding, and baseball survived well over 100 years without one.

The adoption of these things is far more about modern day needs for action than anything inherent in the game.

Will of course agree that it makes the games less entertaining, but players play and coaches coach to win the game, not entertain the fans. Especially at the HS level.

Wow. I’ll admit it that I thought May was the second coming of Beilein. Boy, has the wheels fell off that train quick. That team is imploding.

Until 1938 there was a jump ball after every basket. That reduced the score and slowed the game.

And then CBS misses that last 20 sec of the 1st half.

What in the heck is up with their production today, including the Mich / MSU game.

Cheap.
