Speaking of bad shooting, Murray St. just lost to Missouri St. 60-35 in the Valley tournament with these numbers:
FG: 12-57 (21%)
3-Pt: 2-20 (10%)
FT: 9-16 (56%)

Oof.

down 47-40, WI with a run to take lead ... on one possession WI had 5 offensive rebounds and then fouled, two FTs to go up 55-49

ESPN+ is a great investment this time of year… simultaneously watching Western Illinois win late, Horizon & ASUN tourney games going to the final possession… love this!!

I had to get it for the new NHL TV deal.

But each time I see the monthly $$ post, I immediately take a shower and scrub the shame off. Because F ESPN.

Not college, but just heard my high school — HF — won and is in state finals.

They've got two players going D-I. Gianni Cobb is going to Columbia this fall. The other, Bryce Heard, is the #2 ranked junior in the state on 247sports, has multiple D-I offers including from Illinois. They'll face Normal Community, who has a player named Jaheem Webber that is committed to Wright State, tomorrow night at 7:30PM for the 4A state title.

The next step, which I've heard rumors of already, is players on likely non-NCAA teams sitting out confernece tournaments and some end-of-season games becaus they already have transfer/NIL deals in place and don't want to blow them by getting hurt.
And having their scholarships retroactively yanked?

Kick them off the team?? And not give credits because they've not finished classes? Where does this end up? This is where the schools themselves have to step in and not 'wait' for the NCAA to manage the problem....
I can easily see myself in 5 years time not being an NCAA basketball fan..... much like what happened with my NFL fandom a few years back.... The ONLY reason I even watched the SB this year is because I had a couple squares in a pool (won the 1st quarter, Woot!). Couldn't care less about the teams playing.
