I watched the same game and had the same thoughts but I think they fired him two losses too late. That’s a steep hill to climbOhio St really impressed me last night with the win vs Nebraska without Bruce Thornton. They seem to have turned a switch since the Holtmann dismissal. I think if they win out and make another run in the Big 10 tourney(make it to the semis or championship game), they may have a case to make without having to win the tournament title. That's 3 Quad 1 wins in their last 4 games
They are playing with passion and energy. There is talent on that roster and always fear a team with nothing to lose and new purpose.Ohio St really impressed me last night with the win vs Nebraska without Bruce Thornton. You bet on Nebraska ON THE ROAD?They are playing with passion and energy. There is talent on that roster and always fear a team with nothing to lose and new purpose.
That being said I hate them because I bet on Nebraska. Come on tominaga San, I needed you to bring it!
Not sure. If they win their last 2 (1 on the road), then get a few in the BTT, I think they have a chance...all depends on the bubble of course. No way they get in.
They’re currently 3-6 in Q1, which isn’t bad, but they’re also 2-5 in Q2. So they’re 5-11 Q1/Q2 with a Q3 loss, which basically erases a Q2 win. So that makes them ~4-11 in Q1/Q2.
They have just one Q1 game remaining in the regular season.
They’re out unless the win the B1G tourney.
Looking at the other teams on the bubble. You actually could be right. I’d say they need to win out + another ~2 Q1 wins in the B1G tourney. Not sure. If they win their last 2 (1 on the road), then get a few in the BTT, I think they have a chance...all depends on the bubble of course.
The committee looks at mid/late-season personnel changes, but I'm sure that doesn't apply to coaches, unfortunately for them.
Like I said in the last thread, they're basically 5 wins away. Win their last 2, make it to Sunday while beating Purdue/Illinois, and then their resume starts to look realistic.Looking at the other teams on the bubble. You actually could be right. You have no one to blame but yourself, Mysterio San.
Welp, I came to wallow around willy nilly in the scUM mud like a fat happy Illini fan should, but alas that Games thread is closed.
Oh well, I'm sure Dan won't mind a little scUM shade here!
"Dear Baby Jesus, why do I suck so bad? Please give me the strength to slap Hunter Dickinsomething for leaving!"
I get OSU as the 10 seed. My only change to the defaults is PU (at home) beats MD. I don't think that helps OSU as that means they lose in the second round of the BTT vs. IL.I'm playing with the BTT bracket generator, and having trouble getting them out of an 8-9 matchup, which means Purdue on Friday. Win out (Michigan & Rutgers, very possible), win the 8/9 game, then beat Purdue and...could happen.
