Again, after that performance vs the worst offense in the B1G...like historically bad...and the nuke at Indinia...there's absolutely no way you can come back with the same DC next year and be serious about moving this program forward.

No matter how you slice it, even if they win the last 2 games, based on pre-season expectations, this season has been a (major?) disappointment.

Basketball season.
I disagree. Not as a whole. The O-line has been a major disappointment. Everyone knew we had a possibility of having another 10 win season. I never thought of it as guaranteed. We are still WAY better than we were under the previous regimes. I think Henry is not the answer at D coordinator. We obviously need a different guy on the O line. I think the only reason Henry is coordinator is he would have been going to Purdue with Walters if Coach B didn't promote him. Bad roll of the dice IMO....

Some recruiting mistakes on the Oline

I’ve never loved Lunney’s play style and I’ve always thought it was an incongruent with what made Bielema’s teams so good when he was at Wisconsin.

I don’t know who our QB will be next year, but I hope we get some run blocking OLineman and Valentine takes a huge step forward or something.

Congratulations, we played ourselves squarely into the GameAbove Sports Bowl vs. Toledo conversation with that one. Sorta only leaves to be answered one question, whether or not that’s still good enough for this program.
Look on the bright side, the media dude who predicted that we'd play Miami of OH in the garbage pail bowl will now probably be right. arrgghhh

The ONLY bright side is that this performance was Soo bad that Bret might actually fire Henry and Miller after the season.

Fire Discher while your at it too. Special teams have been horrendous

Allowing 27 points to Wisconsin and only have 50 yards rushing is absolutely pathetic. The pass rush I can somewhat forgive in this game alone because they are damn good at that but its been a problem against anyone with a remotely talented dline.

Never showed up to play. Wiscy did. Just beaten in every facet of the game.

Never want to hear CFP talk for the next 5 years. This program still has a lot of work to do to be in that position.

Expectations should be 7-8 wins each season and get to some sort of bowl. That’s success for Illinois football.

Our offensive line has been suspect all year and our defense has been awful. While it has been great to have a winning program again we are not going to reach cfp level unless we start getting some 5 stars and multiple 4 stars or get better at recruiting the portal. Bret needs to make changes in his staff!!!
Recruiting really needs to take it up several notches to get in the playoff mix

If this is how we play with all these returnees and a chance to get to 8 wins against possibly the worst team in the conference, I'm both ready to turn the page on this group of players (and whatever coaches move on/are moved on) and also a bit nervous about what comes next.
Like I've said before if you return a team of players who were mostly average why do you expect them to be great the next year. That's where Bret screwed up, he should have upgraded everywhere instead of counting on his current players would improve.

We are definitely not a football school. At least not one to be taken seriously. Lots of talk of us turning the corner. I program turning the corner and wanting to be taken seriously DOES NOT LOSE THAT GAME.

I'm not quite here yet.....but if they don't take that bag of cash they just got and go get the absolute best defensive coach money can buy next year...you'll have my answer.
